DForce tutorials (Solved)

RexRedRexRed Posts: 1,301

I am seeing three Dforce tutorials that are available in the Daz shop.

https://www.daz3d.com/new-dforce-discoveries

https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-tutorial-set--fantastic-voyage

https://www.daz3d.com/powerful-dforce-discoveries-and-solutions

They are probably at least ten years old, they were made for a much older version of Daz Studio and

Though I would like to, I just cannot as of yet justify spending 80 bucks for them (with tax).

Maybe if they were 10 or 15 bucks each... So instead I am perusing YouTube videos which are probably not as concise but at least many of them are for Daz Studio 4.12.

My question is, are there more recent tutorials available? Where you are you all going to get an indepth education on how Dforce works?

I would think educating people on Dforce would sell more Dforce products... :)

Does anybody own these tutorials, are they worth buying even though they are so old?

It seems corresponding to and older version of Daz would be a serious impediment...

I wish they would go on a better sale... (hint hint)

Actually those tutorials in the shop are by the same person who is in the forums as RGcincy and created that forum thread Mart1n71 directed you to. He started that thread first, then there was demand from forumites for a video version, so he did some. The oldest is about 18 months old (the "Powerful discoveries" one), the first in your list is 13 months old and the last about 8 months old. DS4.10 (which it looks like he was using in the first videos) was the current stable release when he started. I'm not sure dForce for cloth has changed that much since then (mostly fixes rather than new functionality).

If you are happy with written tutorials I recommend the forum thread - there are a series of pdf's which you can download to read, rather than paging through all the related and unrelated comments by others too.

If you prefer video, try this free one by esha (also a PA here): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=945693_Kq2k

ETA: You might also take a look at Mada's youtube channel (another PA here) - there are a few here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7JN0LtBaVOZmjaQKDZtxkQ/videos

What an amazing amount of information Melanie!!! THANK YOU!

I guess he is using some kind of skin on DAZ, it looks very different from the default skin.

Then, by all means the tutorials are very relevant and most likely worth the asking (sale) price.

I think I am going to buy all three. It is a huge expense but the content looks very in-depth. :)

I bought all three tutorials and they are fantastic!!! Really!

The only gripe I have is, he used a different layout on Daz (i think) and it makes it difficult to follow because I am used to the default layout.

The tutorials are so rich in information that it is still very worth it to purchase them.

He goes over just about everything you can imagine with Dforce.

It will take me a couple months to learn all of this.

I am thick as a brick and it takes me a while to internalize things enough, so I remember how to do them,  smiley

Thanks for all the help people! It was especially helpful learning that these tutorials are current and not outdated.
