Pin size

Hi,

is it possible to shrink the pin size? I think they grow because of the Meshgrabber size, just an idea, but if I change meshgrabber size, it have no effect.

In the Powerpose tool do I not see an option to reduce the size.

I get pins like that if the figure is far away from the center of the scene. I think this is a bug that already has been addressed in some thread. Does moving the figure to the scene origin change anything?

would have to test that in a different scene, but yeah daz3d loves its center... its a bid annoying :/ moving much around far away from it is not much loved.

Yeah, there are so many bugs. There is also this other bug with the black eyes. Thats why I create a group named "ALL" and put everything in it, so that I can always maintain the relative positions of the objects in the scene, while moving the parts needed to the center by moving the "ALL" group.

I hope the screenshots are okay, did change to smooth shaded version.

And Thanks @P302 for the Feedback.

I think the issue has been reported, but in case it hasn't you could open a ticket.

oky, will do it. Should I then also report the OOT Mega wardrobe or did you it maybe? :)

I will just put both in, so from last report in the other thread it can/could also happen a bit with the centre.

No, I haven't reported the Mega Wardrobe either - or done much of anything else recently.

I did reported both problems to the support.

I did some playing around in the currently released version (i.e. not the latest beta release) 4.12.1.117

The pin size doesn't change at all if you move the character in the X or Y dimensions, even if you move it a million units (10,000 km!) away from the centre. If you go further than this, say 10 million units, the whole mesh of the character starts to break down to give a really freaky effect (due to rounding errors, I guess)

However, if you move them in the Z dimension the pin size changes rapidly. If you move the character in the negative direction, the pin gets noticably bigger, even with the first few metres. By the time you get to z=-10000, the pin is much taller than the character, if you go out to z=-1000000 it fills the whole screen.

But it's worse if you go z positive. If you do that, the pins get smaller, so they pretty much disappear before you've gone 200 units from the centre. That's crazy.

So until they fix this bug, you've got to be very close to world centre (in the z dimension alone) to use powerpose pins. To that end, I posted a script a while back that will instantly centre the world on any item you select, you may find it useful: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/284301/my-first-script-feedback-sought
