How to set viewport to render with GPU instead of CPU? [Solved]

Ive use Blender before, but I'm just dabling with Daz for the first time... but I'm running into an odd problem that I'm hoping someone here can help me figure out.
When I load a character or object into Daz and go into Iray mode for the viewport while I manipulate the objects in the scene, it will only render with my CPU.

I have the windows task manager and GPU-Z open so I can see whats being used.  The CPU will peg while its rendering the scene in the viewport and the GPUs will remain idle.

However the moment I click render to actually render the scene... it renders with both GPUs without a problem and CPU usage doesn't go higher than around 20% while rendering.  How do I switch the viewport to render with the GPUs and not the CPU?

I'm guessing there's a config setting I havent found that I need to switch.

Daz3d Render settings:

Engine:
 - NVIDIA Iray

Photoreal Mode:
 - CPU : Unchecked
 - Both GPUS : Checked

Interactive Mode:
 - CPU : Unchecked
 - Both GPUS : Checked

General:
 - Allow CPU fallback : Unchecked
 - Allow GPU detection : Checked
 - Check GPU Driver Version : Checked

System Specs:
Windows 10 v1909  OS build 18363.720
Daz3d Studio 4.12.1.76 Pro Public Beta
CPU: Intel i9-9900KF
GPU: Two EVGA Nvidia 2080 Super FTW3 (with NVlink bridge)
Nvidia Driver: 445.75

Viewport is controlled by Draw settings, not Render.

Which you can find in your menu under edit preferences, the setting can be found in one of the tabs.

  • Also, check the advanced tab in draw settings, and notice that depending on draw style, your advanced settings are different. Took me ages to realize that.

Ah, yea that'd definitely make a difference.  Thanks for the info!

Yup found it, i never realized they were in a differnet tab I thought it would just use the same settings as render but at a lower resolution

Will do.  Thanks for the tip.

In the advanced tab of the Nvida Iray Drawstyle of Draw Settings, there is an option only: Tool mode, with 3 options: Exposure, White Balance and Both. Which one should I select in order to it uses the GPU mode only?

Did you get it? I have the same problem, I can't get the Iray viewport uses the GPU mode only. What options did you select?
