So, I noticed that this package when on 70% off:

I am considering buying it, since it has a ton of stuff but, I have just one question, since the requirements are a bit confusing for me...

Does this package have any requirements? Or is this a "Ready to go" bundle, that I could use even if I just downloaded DAZ?

Go to the Product page and follow the links to see EXACTLY what you get.

    ◦Victoria 4.2 Base
    ◦Michael 4 Base
    ◦Aiko 4 Starter Pack
    ◦Hiro 4 Starter Pack

On the Product Page, these links are clickable.

Victoria 4 and Michael 4 are the female and male Generation 4 figures (Genesis is Generation 5, Genesis2 is Generation 6)

Aiko 4 is a morph of V4, and Hiro 4 is a morph of M4

If you click on their links, you will see what comes in the Starter pack for each one.

I think the value is impressive if you are sure that you want to use Generation 4 figures.

Along with DAZ Studio, you get Genesis and Genesis 2 free. If you like Mange or Anime, Aiko and Hiro are the way to go.

By the way, the company here is called DAZ 3D, and the software is called DAZ Studio, or DS or just Studio.

Ah I see... Thank you, the generation 4, 5, 6 were confusing me...

So if I want to use Genesis 2 models, I have to go with Generation 6? Well, in that case I guess I will not buy the bundle. The value was really impressive, but I guess I'm going with the new models for now since I got some clothes/props for Genesis 2.

Would there be a reason to use the older models if I am a new user? I can see how some veteran users who have a lot of stuff for the previous models would stick to them, but if I have nothing, Generation 6 would probably be better, right?

Well, Thank you very much for the answer. It helped me a lot.

There is no Aiko 6 at the moment, but there is an Aiko 5 which is a morph of the original Genesis.
http://www.daz3d.com/aiko-5-starter-bundle Unfortunately not on sale at the moment

I believe that I am correct in saying, that most people who still use Generation 4 figures have done so from the start. If I was starting again, I think I would go for Genesis 2, or even just Genesis as they are both completely free.

There is a host of free stuff available for V4 and M4, including Poses, Skins, Clothing etc, but the clothing can be Autofitted to Genesis for V4, M4 and The Kids 4 with the free DAZ Studio. The skins will work as well by selecting the appropriate UV Set in the Surfaces pane, and the Poses will work (more or less) as Genesis is a slightly different body.

To get Autofit to work directly with G2F or G2M, there is a package to buy, but you could still do it for free, but it takes two stages to do, and may not work as well as the bought package. http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female

Hope that helps a bit, but we are always available here.

Thank you, this completely answers my question.

Guess I will just wait for other bundles to arrive for Gen 5 and 6. Thanks for taking the time, now I know how to tell which items are for me.

When I stepped into 3D-land a couple of months ago, I bought the Generation 4 figures (mostly because I hadn't understood a lot of things about how the figures & clothes work ;-)). That said, there's nothing wrong with buying the bundle.
In addition, these figures have a slightly different look and feel to it. Ultimately, I am using now all three generations I bought. I mostly use G1&G2;, but the Generation 4 has its place as well.
I think it mostly would depend on what you want to do, and what look you want to achieve. :-)
