Hi,

I wanna dforce my bed and it have standard no weightmap, so... why does it act like it HAVE a weightmap? there is absolute nothing around it.

The top of the Duvet is complete static :/

I just used the duvet how it was and yeah no idea :/

I used dforce much times already and thats why I also know the weightmaps, but... there is no weightmap.

Product can have a weigth map even though it isn't listed in the scene tab - somehow it can be set hidden.

But if you add a weight map, it will show the weights that are applied and can be edited.

The weight map is most likely there to ensure that the duvet doesn't end up completely flat, as dForce doesn't have any internal springs, and therefore cannot have volumne.

    hmmm okay.

Thats from the shop, it doesnt say "first delete my stupid weightmap" :/

I mean I LOVE fluffy beds, thats a thing I dont like in much daz3d scenes, that the beds looks soo flat.

    I miss the volume.

Maybe give it thickness with a modifier?  And some textures give the appearance of thickness as well.

What kind of modifier? can you explain it me please?

That was actually a good idea to add a push modifier, combined with a weight map.

The attached picture is a Daz primitive, a plane, with a push modifier, where I ahave let the edges without push.

I never used a push modifier, how does it work, I just tested it, using a brush makes nothing, is it also for dforce?

Edit: oh there in the mesh offset!

    Edit 2:

does not work very well :/ it didnt go down, it made knots/tails O_o

  • Ypu'd need to avoid the edges, and especially the corners, with the weights.

I will check later in my scene how the weightmap looks and just adjust it, I assume it got grey on the top.

That was just a test, cuz I didnt knowed the push modifier.

    Update:

I tested it now with a other bed from the set and!

Lucky I learned random that there is a Simulate menue in the surface (which also helped me at my Dress) and the Simulation was/is disabled for the top of the bed.

    See attachment.

I dont know if this is intended from KindredArts or if ... I dont know my Lib made that O_o

    But, that is the solution.

Edit: But it is still weird.

See last 2 images, the weightmap is complete red, but the corners going up O_o...

I have no idea what the surface simulation regulators do... thats too much for me :<

Edit2: did added the material again and now is the surface correct, seems like the item did changed the surface somehow self :/
