How to Hide All and export only the prop you want?

I have about 40 items in this scene, many of them parented.

1) How do I Hide All and then Unhide the one item I need to export as an OBJ so I don't have to Expand All, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, to hide each one?

Once I have the item exported, how do you Show All again so you don't have to click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click,... to make everything visible again?

2) Or, alternately, is there a way to export the selected item without hiding everything else? When I tried, it exported everything in the scene, not just the selected item. I couldn't see any options in the Scene Dropdown or the OBJ Export Options to select only the one item.

You can save as a subset. Then you uncheck what you don't want from the dialog that comes up instead of from your scene itself.

Then when you want to export, you can load the subset and do it from there.

Select them all (or select what you want and invert the selection - ctrl shift i by default, or in the Scene pane option menu under Select) then use the Visible button in the Parameters pane (if that affects only oen item open the Parameetrs pane option menu - the lined button in the top corner, or rright-click the tab - and make sure that Consolidate proeprties is checked and that Display Separate Items isn't - in the beta they are now in a sub-menu of the option menu).

You can also now hold down ctrl (cms for Mac) and click an eye icon to hide all children in one go.
