Greetz

I downloaded Daz 4.6 (64 bits) and tryed to install decimator:

Decimator for Daz Studio 4.5+ (win 64-bit) Public Build <-- Can't be installed due path error<br /> Decimator for Daz Studio 4.5+ (win 64-bit) <-- Installed correctly</p>

But it doesn't appear at DAZ! Already checked Window > Pane tab

Also, if I try to install manually from .exe, I get a "The installer for "Decimator for DAZ Studio 4.5+ (Win 64-bit) Public Build" requires that the installed path for "DAZ Studio 4.x Public Build (64-bit)" be defined. Make sure that a path for this application is present on the "Applications" page of the "Settings" dialog, then try again."

Please, I need help ;-;

Thx in advance

The Public Build only for the DAZ Studio Beta, if not running the Beta you can not use that version. What do you have in Help>About Installed Plugins is Decimator showing at all and if so is it Green like this...

Umm I see 3 Ready to install are you sure that Decimator installed? If it had it would show in DAZ Studio. Have you ever Registered DAZ Studio to the Pro version? That may be your only issue.

If DAZ Studio is Registered to Pro it will say PRO on its title Bar. If it does not it is only running as DS4+. See the image below. If it is not registered you will find your code in My Account> My Serial Numbers . You then do Help>Register DAZ Studio.

Sorry to zombify an old thread, but I'm having the same issue. I'm running DAZ 4.6 and it is registered as Pro, when I use the downloader to install the beta, all it seems to want to add is genesis 2 male starter essentials, which I suppose I opted out of, as I like genesis 1 just fine. Decimator is on the about>plugins list with red text saying:

"Library could not be loaded. File is not a valid DAZ Studio plug-in, or was made for a different version of DAZ Studio."

If I have beta, will it say that in my title bar?
    Thanks.

When you purchased the plugin for 4.6, note the extension ... that's the one that will work in 4.6.

As D/S4.7 is now out, you'd need to check your Product Library for an updated installer for the Decimator that will load in 4.7.

Thanks. I haven't updated to 4.7 yet, as updates are a big pain for me. I try to save my user data but I have organized things into products that never come back when I load user data (problem for another thread probably) so I'm slow to update because it means hours of finding and reorganizing content.

So I am in 4.6, but when I add the beta to my cart, it doesn't send very much to the downloader.

    Thank you!

OK, just upgraded to 4.7 and now I and it asked me to enter my serial number...it seems like it installed right after that. And I didn't lose my "product" groupings. Thanks!

Oh dear..... so to use Decimator, which I bought, I have to upgrade to a newer version of Daz? but the description of it says 4.5+ so it should work in older versions... So frustrated! I'm not ready to move to the next Daz version.

Is there no way to make it work? I find no way for it to let me put in the serial code for it like the other plugins. It shows up red in my plugins list and says its for the wrong version of DazStudio. :(

It really stinks to buy something and find it doesn't work in everything it's advertised for. :( Guess I'll shoot support a letter but I'm guessing they're all off on Holiday.

Decimator is installed by the main DS installer, you just need to enter the serial number to enable it (it's included because those of us who bought DS4 Pro when it wasn't free get Decimator as part of the pro bundle). The same is true of AniMate 2 (in that case because it works as AniMate Lite for all users).

Not sure what you mean, can you show me where to enter the serial number? It's not next to the other plugins that require a serial number. And i got DS 4 pro back before it was free and I didn't have Decimator, and it was not otherwise in my installer, either, so guess that was discontinued.

Anyway, Animate has a space beside it in the list of plugins for a serial code. Decimate does not. Animate has a green status mark beside it. Decimate loads with a red status mark = failed. And will not let me input a serial code.

If you look at the attached image, it shows A: Animate has a space for a serial code. Decimate does not. And B: decimate is not in the plugins listed in the pro plugin-bundle.

So yeah, I'm still not sure how to get Decimator to work.

Sorry, you are right - it's included in the DS downloads, but is a separate package. So yes, it does look as if you need to upgrade to DS 4.7, if you didn't download or didn't keep the installer for the version that matched 4.6.

Richard, since I just recently bought Decimator a couple months ago, I only just installed it. That's why I'm so annoyed it doesn't work. The page description is obviously incorrect as it say "DAZ Studio version 4.5.0.114" :(

You could open a support ticket, they may be able to help.

Yeah, I had to do that for something else and CS did refund the price. Sadly the product pages don't always get updated to reflect reality.
The usual items 'normally' will work in the more recent editions of D/S BUT not the plug-ins, they need to be installed to the edition that was out when they were purchased. However, when next the program gets updated, so do all the plugins [hopefully] and then they will continue to work in the next edition without repurchasing. [not sure the G.hair did though, I read that some were having problems with that one so I didn't upgrade to find out].
