runtime and zips...

Hi all,

1/ Looking at where my files are, and how they have been installed - I use Win7 64bit - I noticed that apart from separate runtime items in My library the install manager also keeps the entire set of zips. Compared to most of your contents mine will be very small, but it does add up to nearly 3GB and this on my C drive which is a 60GB SSD, meant for windows, and applications and that' should be it.

The obvious question is: can I move all those zips to an external hdd?

2/ Is it also possible to create my own runtime, just like I used to do years ago in Poser? It would be handier, and the folder would be leaner as there are a lots of materials ( make-up mostly). I find the way things are kept a bit of a mess. Some characters are in folders, some in subfolders,... This makes things unnecessarily complex. My idea.

thanks for reading and eventually for replying.

Yes you can move them to a secondary drive. Just move the folder to wherever you want it. Open DIM and click on the cog wheel in the upper rt hand corner. Go to the downloads tab. You can change the location of your downloads folder. You can set numerous runtimes if you wish in DIM. Go to the Installation tab and in the lower left corner click on the + and add in your custom runtime. Just be sure you select that install path when you install a product.

You also have this option... it clears the Zips auto after they install...

    Thanks.

I used Poser long ago and still have my big runtime from those days. I copied it to a dedicated external HDD and will see what I can still do with it.

I can keep my downloads on there too.
