I put CMS (thinking it was a .NET web server thing) in Manual mode, as I am not hosting web pages on this computer, and I wanted that 48MB of RAM it was using All the time.
That was a mistake. Easy fix here as the service was not corrupted or faulty.
Cntrol Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
Find "DAZ Content Management Service" and start it back up, and leave it as "Automatic".
I Don't know why Daz3D dose not just start the service when it is needed, and leave it not running when Daz3D is not being used?

Check and make sure your CMS is still running in your Task Manager
Thanks for the reply. I'm on a Mac. What the name of the process?
I'm not sure. I gonna try and get a mac user
I'm not a Mac user myself, but this page has more information on the CMS including some instructions for Mac users: Trouble-shooting the Smart Content Pane.
Inn Activity Monitor just filter on DAZ and set it to show all process, you will find a DAZ Content Manager System.
There are also a lot of hints here: The Mac FAQ

CMS is needed to run the Smart Content and if you use custom categories. If you don't use either one it isn't needed
