Are you installing with DAZ Install Manager, or manually?

In Poser, at the top of the Library pane when you're at the top level there should be an icon of a folder with a running man and a plus sign. Click that to add a new runtime, then browse to the location of the new runtime. For DIM the default location on Windows 7 is C:\users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\Runtime (I'm not sure if Poser requires the path up to Runtime or just up to My DAZ 3D Library).

Did you try both with and without the Runtime at the end of the path?

I hit the man with the plus, then it says browse for folder an under my documents is a folder jaz3d if I click ok it wont work it says folder selected is not a runtime folder.theres a make new folder option, should I do that?

You want the folder where the product is installed. Using DAZ Install Manager, the default location is "C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library" for Windows 7, or "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\My Documents\My DAZ 3D Library" for Windows XP -- note that this is in Public (also called Shared) documents, not in "My Documents" under your own user account. What Operating System do you have?

Content that comes in zips will have a Runtime folder, sometimes as the top-level folder in the zip, sometimes one or two levels down. You need to extract the files from the zip to a temporary location and MERGE just the Runtime folder with the Runtime folder you are using in Poser. Ignore the folders above Runtime from the zip.

Somethings are just Textures (or color maps) for other things. They need the item they are made for to be used. For a Hair texture to work you must first have that item as content, have it loaded and then the texture would work to change how that item looked. A texture is not the Hair prop that M4 would have on it, just a new look you could put on the Hair if you had it and was using it.

Have you read the free DAZ Studio User manuals yet? They would help you I do believe.

Some hair is not a conforming figure like most clothing, but just a prop that sits on the head. In this case you "Parent" the hair rather than "Conforming" it.

so just put any Michael hair on an add the texture?also what if skin pokes through the clothes?for instance with the supersuit?

Also there are different types of Hairs, some are just a prop. Once it is loaded it gets Parented to the Head.

    And Mike Beat me.

As for Poke through in Poser I can not help, I only use Poser to create mat files to use in DS and Poser type items I make for my own use.

The Supersuit is for Genesis -- are you using it on Genesis or Michael 4?

    m4.it says supersuit for m4
Is that a Free item from some site? We may not know the item. There is a Supersuit sold by DAZ 3D for genesis with that name.

In my old days I would just do Hide of the body part that was poking through if it did not hide parts that was needed in the finished render.

You have to buy hair that will fit to V4.2. Poser hair isn't made for DAZ figures. You can parent and adjust the scale on the x,y,z to get it close as possible
