Hairstyles from outoftouch vendor not quite working properly - solved

Edit - For anyone clicking this thread. The issues I were experiencing have been solved. The issue of clipping causing some back marks was solved by the helpful people in this thread. The issue with one of the hairstyles displaying as a white basic model I managed to solve on my own by navigating to the materials tap for the various hair colours and selecting a hair colour. Doing that makes the hairstyle appear correctly.

Hello.

I'm trying to use some hairstyles from the vendor "outoftouch". Unfortunately they seems to be causing me some issues, which to me look to be some kind of clipping. See the imgur link below to see some examples of what happens.

I'm making sure to use the genesis 8 version of the hairstyles.

This is happening without me having done anything to the character models. I've literally just loaded them into the scene, and then tried to add the hairstyle onto the character models.

I'm only getting this issue with hairstyles from outoftouch. The few hairstyles I have from other vendors work perfectly on all the characters I've tried so far.

Kinda hoping this is some easy fix that I'm just not aware of due to being extremely new to daz studio. Either I hope someone here have a suggestion for how to make hairstyles from outoftouch work properly

One fix to try, turn instance optimization under render settings > optimization to speed, if that don't get rid of the black spots try memory. The other one is to make sure the person is near the origin(0,0,0). If you select the hair, look in the parameter tab, expand the actor and adjustment, look for something like "adjust forehead depth" and fiddle with that slider

Hi, To me it happens with some other hair, and the problem is the scalp which is colliding with the head. A very fast solution (even if I am not sure is the best one), is just to select the hair and scale a little (100.5% or so). I think that the proper way to fix is to use the parameters Adjust (if exhisting), or the collision parameters.

Setting optimization to speed seems to reduce or remove the issue with the black marks. And adjust forehead depth can help remove it entirely. So many thanks for those tips! Fixed 80% of my problems :)

However I still have the issue with the "Lainey" hairstyle which never renders properly, and remains as that white basic model, even on the default genesis 8 model
