I have just started learning daz studio. I mainly use Poser Pro 2014 and I am curious as to what the two pieces of software have in common.

1. Does Daz Studio Pro 4.6 have an equivalent to Poser's Material Room setup?

2. Are there any tutorials on this daz equivalent room?

3. Are there any plugins for Daz Studio that give it more features?

I'm promarly a Poser user to but, yes DS have an equivalent material/surface settings. If importing from poser you will need to do some adjusting of the settings cause they are measured in two different ways. Have you checked out DAZ's youtube channel? There are a bunch of videos there. As with any software one has features the other doesn't

Shader Mixer is the equivalent of the Material Room, but we don't yet have good documentation for the bricks it uses - there are a number of forum threads discussing them, though. The big thing to remember is that while plugging an input into a Material Room nodes multiplies it with the local setting, in Shader Mixer plugging an input in completely overrides any setting for that property on the brick.

There are numerous plugins and scripts adding features to DS, as well as shaders which are like Poser Material Room setups with Python control interfaces in use - you get a new set of options in the Surface pane when a new shader is applied, though for the most part you don't have access to the underlying setup as most are compiled shaders rather than networks.
