You can use Poser/DAZ Studio - the magnets in Poser, the DForms in DS. If you want more control you need a modeller that will maintain vertex order when importing and exporting OBJ files - Blender will do the job for free, hexagon is cheap here at DAZ.

IF your wanting to do custom morphs then yes. Honestly if you have it then zbrush is the best for creating custom morphs.

You just edit the one you have.

Morphs are exactly what they sound like -- an alteration of an existing model. If you want to create a morph you need to export the original mesh you want to morph, edit it in an application (or use DForms in Daz Studio) and then save it as a morph target. For more advanced morphs, you may need to use ERC Freezes to fix changes in the bones.

If you want to create a unique model or figure, you'll want a proper modeling application such as Blender.

so blender would be making a figure from scratch?

Blender or any modeler that can maintain vertex order on import/export can make a morph. A morph is the moving of the vertices to create a new shape. A morph cannot add or remove vertices.

Does Blender have surface editing brushes? If so then you can import your figure to Blender and use the brushes to make your morph. Once done you import it back into DAZ Studio and add it as a morph target.

I'm not fully sure the OP understands that a morph is a shape for a existing mesh and not a new mesh at this point. It depends on the goal that has not been posted so far that I see. Need more info to fully help the user.

Yes. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Are you looking to change the facial or body structure. If so you can do a lot with dial spinning in DAZ Studio if you uncomfortable with editing preexisting meshes.
