4.6 Product not in the Smart Content
I am an absolute newbie to 3D design. I have a project that i need to complete and this is the best way that i can get it done. I have installed Daz3D 4.6 a few days ago and purchased the Ethnicity for Genesis package. It shows up on my Install manager, but it is not ticked like a number of other products that i purchased, but i can't find it anywhere with the actual Daz3D program; so i cant seem to use it. I would really appreciate some help with this. I am starting to get the hang of the basics, but and I would like to get onto using the Ethnicity package to create my character. Please help..

Ethnicity for genesis is a set of shaping morphs. There are no presets, only the morphs.
So you won't see anything in the smart content, but if you load a new genesis figure you should see the new morphs in the "Shaping" and "Parameters" tabs.
thanks Leana. Now I know :-) . I created a basic female figure from Daz People in the Content Library, I then went to Shaping. the only thing there is an All button and there is nothing else under it. Are there any settings i should be checking?
DAZ People is the Poser Figure Library folder for the older (fourth generation and before) figures - Genesis isn't there (unless you have installed the PoserCFs for it), so I suspect you are loading an older figure which won't use the Genesis morphs and which isn't set up to show its morphs in the Shaping pane (they should show in the Parameters pane).
You will find dials under actor>head>face.
Thanks for all you help guys. I got the basics right with the Ethnicity ..I would like to create an African Woman character, and i need to get skin tones, eye colours and hair styles that will work on the genesis female character. So far she is in grey, Like your screenshot CyberDog. Can you advice me on this. thanks again
You need to purchase a matching skin tone or find one free at Share CG, as ethic faces are just morphs (looks).
Or you can use the Genesis 2 skin that comes with DS and change the materials but I think thats a little too difficult if you are new to the whole DAZ 3D thing.
A creator of decent to excellent dark skin texture sets is Reciecup...her site rendercandy.com has several very nice free ones. They are for generation 4 characters, though...the textures will load on Genesis with no problem, but Genesis 2 will need an extra step to get them to load.
Thanks guys. with a forum like this, I think I'am going to be an addict soon :-) . Thanks guys.
Oh one more question. How do I change the facial features of Victoria 4.2? Nose shape, lips etc..
