downloaded files go missing right away

I do not know what is going on or how many files are being affected, but I do know I have been trying to download FileZilla for the last couple days I think.  It downloads fine but then disapears before I can install it or while I am installing it.  My options are to figure out why or to try to find another ftp client that is free.

Check that your anti-virus isn't quarantinng it for some reason - make sure you are downloading from the proper site.

I am apparently using  McAfee.  I am trying to see if McAfee does not like FileZilla.  Is there another FTP client than filezilla you recommend?

easier to do away with Mcafee and get an AV that doesn't argue with your downloads

I used winSCP at work for the longest time. Don't use it anymore because I got a new position which doesn't require use of ftp

I tried uninstalling Mcafee but it hung for about two hours so I restarted the computer but Mcafee stayed.

Does not matter anymore anyway. My computer was taken from me. I fear this time forever.
