Does Michael 5 have a penis?
Hi,
I'm pretty new to Daz. I have bought both Michael 5 and Victoria 5 and a bunch of Genesis stuff (hair, super suit, legionnaire, some fantasy stuff, G4 and F4 for Genesis, etc.). Now I can make orcs and pixies and aliens and zombies but I can't seem to find Michael's penis. It looks like there is a picture of part of it in his texture pack but there seems to be no morph or prop apart from the genital bulges.
Did I not install Michael 5 correctly or is the penis simply not there?
If he does have a penis but it's sold separately, could someone point me to where I can buy it?

There is but it isn't sold seperately. You have to buy one of the M5 bundles - Michael 5 Pro or 3D Model bundles have it.
Thanks!
So essentially I have to buy Michael and Victoria again as part of a bundle in order to get "all" of them?
How much other stuff is hidden in bundles? =/
I think I remember seeing some expressions in a Genesis Evolution video, which were only available as part of a Genesis Evolution bundle. It's kind of frustrating that they are not sold separately. I'd really like to buy those expressions but seeing as I already have the body and head morphs, the bundle price seems a bit steep for only the expressions.
Oh well...
Only the Pro Bundles come with All of the model.
That particular expressions pack was a limited-time offer and is no longer available, even with the Evolutions morph bundle. I think Expressive for Genesis is kind of the replacement. Real Emotions for DS4 is good, too.
If you need M5 and/or V5 to be anatomically complete, your options are unfortunately limited: you'll have to buy the Pro Bundles (or Pro Suites), or buy an add-on part (available on some other websites, but this is an imperfect solution from what I understand). If you purchased M5 and V5 fewer than 30 days ago, you can return them for a refund and get the bundles instead. If you purchased them more than 30 days ago, it might still be worth contacting customer support to ask if you can do this...just explain that you didn't realize that the Pro Bundles were the only way to get the genitals. Or you can wait until the pro bundles go back on sale and buy them at that time (with a substantial enough discount on the bundle, it won't seem as painful that you've already purchased the base figures).
Hope this is helpful!
I wish they'd clearly state such things in the product description. It's can't be presumed that the customer will know such things. I've been rendering for years, and I didn't know that I must buy the bundles to get the genitals either.
http://www.daz3d.com/daz-bundles/genesis-michael-victoria-combo-bundle This bundle comes with private parts. Its the cheapest way to get them. There is no similar option for V6 and M6 though. For them its buy a pro pack only. However you only have to buy one propack with the genitals to use them with other figures. Like if you buy V6 pro pack, you might be able the Girl 6 pro pack.
Basically the way I see it with DAZ Original Figures, is if you GO "PRO", You Get all the "TOOLS" OF THE PROfession.
Agreed, they could be a little more clear with some of the descriptions, O.K. allot of descriptions are lacking at best to someone new to 3D render stuff.
I noticed that some figures have a 'Disable Genitalia' and others mention nothing in the description. It's not just the "Daz Original" figures with the, lacking descriptions.
I find it best just to assume that if it is not mentioned in the description, it is not there. And don't assume that if it is in the promo pics, it will be in the product.
Apparently Allot of the figure creators/artists are not fond of Roman statues, lol.
The ghost of Puritanism still haunts main stream USA. The ONLY reason (I believe) that the parts are hard to find, besides profit, with which I am cool, is their continued unmentionability. The general public, in the eyes of people selling to them, will turn away at even the slightest notion of nudity, sex, or genitals. Even the Anatomy pack doesn't make a big deal out of genitalia, which is a big part of every human's experience. - Sigh - I'm done now.
At any rate, there's a certain expectation when you make things like that available as a separate piece. They'll expect morphs, and they'll expect textures and so on. The end result is that you end up not with a product for the sole purpose of anatomy, but very clearly designed with sexual depictions in mind. This is not Daz's intention.
DAZ3D is in Utah.
More importantly, DAZ3D accepts PayPal payments, and PayPal is pretty strict when it comes to trafficking in what could be construed as pornography.

Yep. Paypal and at least one major credit card processor. Being "family friendly" in certain ways is mandatory if you want to stay in business as anything but a directly adult content seller, which is why directly adult content sellers are their own thing and will remain their own thing. DAZ aren't prudes, they are being perfectly rational about the financial necessities of being a broad 3d content provider on the internet.
It's still a pity that setting up artistic nudes is leads easy than it could be.
