3 simple Questions concerning: A floor, mixing genesis 1 with 2 figures, & pan-zoom-orbit speed.

3 Questions:

1. I used the search function in products page, Where can I get a Floor for Genesis? Can you link me to it at the products page? Reason being, it's hard to eye depth with the default grid floor, very time consuming positioning figure's feet right above the floor grid sometimes.

2. I used the free beach scene for a Genesis 2 figure but I noticed it is nowhere to be found when using original Genesis figures. Can you not mix Genesis and Genesis 2 figures in the same scene?

3. It is kind of slow using the pan, orbit, and zoom icons. Is there anyway to increase the sensitivity of those? I'm using a stylus instead of a mouse. I am going to wear out my tip just using the zoom lol.

Create a Primitive Plane for a floor it comes in flat and ready no matter what figure you load.

EDIT: You can MIX anything, but some items are smart tagged to only be smart (shown) when the item it was for is selected. You can load all your content from the Content Library Tab no matter if it is smart or not.

EDIT: Again the Speed of those tools is probably getting slowed down by the items in the view. If a item has Smoothing on it will slow down the screen updates.. Each item can have its own Smoothing setting...

You do know to zoom in to a figure or object, select them (easy way to do that is using Scene tab) then if you click on the + surrounded by 4 square corners (located right under the zoom tool- it will say View: Frame LMB when you mouse over it) then your view will zip right to that object and you don't have to scroll or zoom to get to it.

EDIT: See image. Doing this is very helpful in large scenes. You can scoot around in seconds :)

    Jaderail-
thanks, I didn't know how to make a primitive plane so I went to the help menu. Eventually figured it out : ) I would still like something from the store that will help me eye depth a little better. Guess I might buy a house or room to set the figures in.
no, it's not the amount of items slowing down. It seems slow even for one item. It's like I have to keep dragging the cursor over the zoom magnifying icon. And my computer specs are efficient enough. Just wish the speed was quicker. Also figured out the content library tab. thanks

    Novica -
thanks for posting the screenshot, I am aware of that, but still, using the zoom magnifying glass icon is slow. even turning around some objects. I thought there might have been a hot key to press. It seems i have to open up the right side of the options to move the icons to the center of the screen just to move more. Seems I have to keep dragging the zoom magnifying glass icon. Just wish the sensitivity of the movement was faster : ) Maybe it is my screen rez

What are your computer specifications...including video card (and amount of memory it has)...

Using the 'focal zoom' instead of the 'dolly zoom' might help, that's very fast! (right button and drag the magnifier)
It even works in perspective view when there supposedly is no focal length. :-)

what I mean is, even though view: frame & reset are helpful, you have to keep dragging the cursor over dolly zoom. But.... nevermind because like you suggested, right click or was it left click, (sorry, using a pen) completely helps!. I had reconfigured my pen buttons so left and right click were used for another function. THANKS!

    And...

    jaderail / or anyone -
where are these files of this product?

I can't find it, I checked environments, architecture, props to the left
    OR
    content library to the light.

How did you install it? Using DIM or manually?

You should find it in the Content Library pane under Poser Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > Figures, and it usually starts with DH_

Laptop...are you sure you are using the Nvidia card?

Those symptoms with the slow zoom sure sounds like the Intel HD (that HD really means Have DirectX...Intel has spotty OpenGL support, at best) graphics is what is being used.

You have very similar specifications to my system except your chip is faster. I did not find the zoom that slow really. I do have to use the mouse wheel more than normal, which yes... can be a little annoying.

That you are trying to use a tablet with DS I could see a problem. I don't know what the others will say, but I know I read here somewhere when I was starting that the DS interface is not really expecting a tablet for input. I gave up on that notion and only use a keyboard and shortcuts. Save my tablet for post work.

Novica's recommendation is a true time saver. As are saved camera views IMHO.
