smart content scan question

does smart content automatically rescan for new content each time DS 4.6 starts up...
or do i need to make it rescan ... if so how ?

i have installed some new content that is not showing up.

    If your installing your products with DIM then no you don't need to do anything. If your installing manually then a lot of time you will need to re-import your metadata. I've got a render going so can't do screen shots of where that's at.

    ok i tried it and worked.....
    so i guess i should install everything else , then re-import the metadata ....
    i was doing it one at a time to see what up...
