help. Users using this shader

I can't see the effect like a sample at all, what should I do?

What i tried
・ Default dome
・ Other HDRI maps
・ Adding lights (spot lights, point lights, directional lights)

However, the effect like a sample cannot be obtained.

    Yes. I tried it.
    The result was the same as the preview.

    I uninstalled the product and reinstalled it, but it didn't improve.
    The package date was 2016.

    I submit a ticket to support.
    I will share the results here.

    I contacted support.
    He said that the shader issue was known and was being investigated.
    I think it is unlikely that the problem will be solved.
    I have applied for a refund.

    Hi all --

    I just want to confirm what kumayuki's reporting here. I've had this shader for a good while and have used it successfully in the past on a number of projects, with no problems even when I knew almost nothing about handling shaders.

    Just recently I had reason to start re-rendering some older images with better sets, backgrounds, etc; one of these images used the Anodized Shader as "car paint" on the venerable Llamaghini. I'm posting here one image that I rendered in 2018, using whatever version of DS (4.09?...) was current then -- that one's had a little post-processing to it: you can see the lens flare -- and the same image rendered earlier this week, without any post added. The difference is striking.

    Just to make sure that the shader hadn't been corrupted or something similar, I de-installed it with DIM and then re-installed and tried the render again. No improvement: same result.

    I'm wondering if something may have happened to the way DS handles specularity (or something similar). I'm hoping that some fix can be found, as this shader seems unique in what it does and I'd hate to lose the use of such a frankly beautiful functionality.

    So, submitting a ticket... we'll see what happens.

    I suspect that Nvidia has removed or changed the iray feature.

    Before I returned this product, I took a look inside the shader from the shader mixer and The color array brick did not seem to be working.

    Not to bring up a dead thread, but was this shader issue ever fixed? There doesn't seem to be a follow up from Dimension Theory or anyone else...

    so....is it still broken?

    Bump...

    So I reached out to a few people over at DA to see if this product is till working...

    BIG RESOUNDING NO. (What versions you might ask were being used? 4.14, 4.15.   4.12.   it's all the same....BROKEN.)

    So I must ask the question... Where or what is DAZ using to say it does work for Studio 4.15? Because the sales page claims it does work.

    This 2016 product requires Daz Studio 4.10

  • Just to confirm - working on Daz 4.10 Pro (Mac) - somehow working on 4.15 Pro (Windows) but some of the colors are totally off.

    The support team pretend this product works with 4.15.

    Since it doesn't, apparently, error out they may need a clear explaantion of what it should be doing and how it differs from that. It may also be worth checking the log file, some Shader Mixer bricks (assuming the shader is built in Shader Mixer) had to be reimplemented or were dropped following chnages in Iray and it's possible that the issue lies there and might be reflected in the log file.
