Pose presets and XYZ coords
Hey folks,
I have been doing a lot of testing things out with DAZ, but now I am finally starting to make some actual scenes for panels in a digital comic I am creating. In one of the scenes there are a ton of props, and positioning/posing characters is very laggy, so I decided to do the poses on a blank canvas and then save them as a preset and import them. That all worked fine, except i noticed that, when I applied the pose preset to the existing character in the scene, it moved her back to (0,0,0), which is where the base genesis figure was when I posed it on the blank canvas.
Now, it's not a huge deal to move the character back to position, but I thought there must be a way to tell DAZ to save the pose of the figure without saving the X-Y-Z coordinates, so I can import the pose without the figure moving location. However, I can't seem to find out how to do that.
Can anyone help me with how to save the pose without saving the location? Or is that really not possible?

Steve,
This is one of DAZ Studio's more annoying quirks. There are clever ways around it but the easiest is simply to lock the X, Y and Z co-ordinates for the figure, on the parameters pane, before you apply the pose and then unlock them afterwards.
Cheers,
Alex.
When you save poze preset as duf, ds,
you may find options to check on and off about each node property, which you need not save.
then usually we set location by root translation, and hip translation.
it deped on how you locate and poze your figure.
somecase, you may hope to save hip translation, (eg you make poze in air fight or jump
then need to save hip Y translation and rotation.)
about this case, you just check off, root node Transforms.
then if you need to hip positon keep curent rocation,
you may need to check off, hip Transforms too.
like that, you can check off rotation only or z translation, etc
then you can save only properties which you need.
if you check off property A, the Property A value never change, when you apply the poze to current Actor.
And alexhcowley sugegsted way is good,
then when you load poze preset, with ctrl key and click the duf,
you can choose node and option, which you want to apply.
I recommend test by your self about each option. (there are many case by mixing option,
after you grab it, you can mix many poze as you like, eg apply upper body poze + hand poze only from
some full body poze files.)
Image removed for nudity. Please post a render with an untextured figure to illustrate your point.
Thanks for the help, guys. I didn't realize the nodes included the location/rotation transforms (I thought they were just the body parts and did not bother to try expanding them).
When you save the POSE in the menu under general turn Translate XYZ off and then only the pose saves.
