FBX import issue

edited December 1969 in New Users

Hi, when I import a model using the fbx import option I do not have any control there is no import options.

When I import using the obj import option I get the import options where I can define options like convert to Daz and change the import scale settings and change the axis.

Is the import options available for the fbx format?

No. lots of experimentation and I still cant determine best export params. I have good results with DAE. DS Fbx export is fine though. Carrara and iClone 3d exchange pipeline imports fbx that consistantly fail in DS.

Thank you for your time you took to experiment.

Do you know of a way to export as obj format but keep the pivot point intact?

I have attached a wip daz studio render of my model, its a Kite Buggy no kite or controls yet.

With my model I had to export the steering as fbx in order to keep the pivot point.

I have the front wheel and hub as a seperate object exported as obj, due to issues with the wheel when using fbx.

So I have the steering as the parent with the front wheel and hub as the child, you can rotate by selecting the parent rotate y to turn left or right.

With the steering if you check the parameters for the scale it is very different to the rest of the model, would this be an issue if I were to try and sell the model on the daz store?
