okay i don't get this I just installed this stuff (I tend to do it manually via the zip files so I know what directory they are in.), but quite often I run in to this issue... some times its a Daz file some times a poser file, the thing is they load in just fine it only happens when I re-open, it makes no sense example stone masons Urban sprawl 2 when I did something with that, I thought "hey I will load up the Daz version so all the materials will auto load the material types. the next time opened the file I got that same error so I used the poser version... and it was fine but some times the same issue happens with a poser file like the spy car for poser.

what am i doing wrong?

Looks to me like your PATHS are not set correct in the DAZ Studio Content Directory Manager.
That or you might have NESTED content folders in your Content folder. When you Hand install do you ONLY install the FOLDERs below the Content folder? Only the DIM uses that folder. It should NOT go inside a My Library folder or My DAZ 3D Library folder.

In DS, can you go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand the "DAZ Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats", and post a screenshot?

Where is the folder /data/? Is it on an external drive?

I'm assuming that you are saving/reloading these items as scenes, not loading them fresh each time?

mostly because of Dson I tell it to put everything in my poser 10 folder but yes I think this item I did install a "My folder" that still doesn't explain the poser stuff that some times works and some times doesn't like Daz not wanting to find the morphs on my poser characters... I think I borked my content, cause I also can't get the gen 4 people installed in to my Daz it only installs their mats.

sounds like I need to move... or reinstall stuff?

First off your paths should NOT point to the programs at all only to Content Folders.
Second on Win7 or above no content should be in the programs Files area as they are now OS protected folders and that will cause errors.

Yes, the cause of your primary problem is having content in Program Files -- DS thinks it's saving data files there, but the OS is really putting the in an AppData folder, so when you reopen the scene DS can't find them.

Second, having nested content folders (such as both ....Smith Micro\Poser 10 and ....Smith Micro\Poser 10\content) will cause problems.

Third, you should never have a path which includes the Runtime folder or any folders below Runtime -- the path should end at the folder containing the Runtime folder.

but the dson thing wanted to be installed in the poser 10 folder so I figured that is where every thing would go and since the Daz installer crap doesn't always find the ptoduct i just started to do it manually and it always targeta a "My" library by default which is why I installed some stuff there that have sepperate Daz and poser installers... okay so I fucked up... do I just move the folders or remove them re-install else where?

    Understatement...and probably...

I'm going to guess you are using something newer than WinXP...so all that stuff in Program files is problematic. The 'in depth' mappings of the content folders are also problematic.

But, the likelihood of needing to scrap it and reinstall is low, so, it should be fixable with some remapping and maybe some moving.

I just wanted to thank every one who helped me with this, it eventually also fixed a problem I was having with Genesis 2 not morphing in poser I also changed the Cache and temp files folder to an actual folder hoping that fixes the missing files issue
