Hi so Im brand new to this! And Im just trying to get started and figure out the software.

When first opening DS I get the fallowing message:

Could not open the start up scene: C:/Users/Jewels/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library/ Genesis/Genesis.dsf

So I tried loading the Barefoot Dancer and got:

Some assets Needed to load the file were missing. The content may not work as expected.

The following files could not be found:

/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Female/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base/PBMNavel.dsf
/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Female/Genesis2Female.dsf

Tried loading the Basic Female and got the same thing:

/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis/Base/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base/FBMBasicFemale.dsf
/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis/Base/Genesis.dsf

I also tried a few of the environments and props, but get the same thing.

I have read quite a few other threads about this same problem, but still have been unable to fix it.

I searched all over my directories for a .duf? But there is nothing AT ALL in any of the Daz Library folders. (see attached photos)

I have done 4 complete uninstalls, and re installs, but still the same thing happens.

DIM by default, installs into C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library

You would need to add that path to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager in order for DAZ Studio to 'see' these new items.

You need to add it to BOT DAZ Studio Formats AND Poser Formats so that the content will work properly. You can leave your 'My Library' folder listed as well.

Here is what that looks like. From what you said (and ty for your reply btw) It appears to be correct, but still not loading them. This is really frustrating. I mean, you would expect a software to just work, not to have to go digging around to get anything to load. Im so confused, and not very good with this kinda stuff, Im sorry. I still have no clue how to fix it, and Iv been at it for 2 days now. :( I did have an older version of Daz installed about a year ago (that I removed), IDK if that could be messing with things? Or what?

Oh and can I just install manually? Or does it have to be done with the DIM? Maybe it is the DIM that is messing up?

I think the old version installed the documents to a different place. Look at where the install manager put the new items. Make sure you have pointed to the right path for where Genesis is currently installed. I had this problem too. After everything was said and done, the opening scene still wanted Genesis to be in a different place. In the end I think I fixed it by loading Genesis and just saving it to be the default scene so it would look like it use to when i opened it. But Daz Studio still has to be able to find your files first so you can load them up. You can have it load Genesis or Genesis 2 female or whatever and make that your default scene to load.

The last image of the group of four you posted shows C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D All that I have in there is the Install manager as well. What you need to look at is one level up in C:\Users\Public\Documents\ and there you should see My DAZ 3D Library.

What do you see when you open the Content Library pane in DAZ Studio, you should see both My Library AND My DAZ 3D Library as selectable libraries?

Go to the Content Library pane, then DAZ Studio Formats > People > Genesis, and there you should have Genesis.DUF. Load it by double clicking on the icon.

Let me know how you get on please.

WOOTZ! Thanks guys, it appears I have fixed it. ^_^ I had to go into the content manager, and then add a new content set. I put the 2 directories in there that you suggested Jimmy, and now I can load the products. Still wont load the default scene, but Im going to try what Rita suggested for that! Thanks so much... now off to go through the quick start guide and see if I can get a handle on all this!! Thanks so much again guys!

All you need to do to get the Startup Scene to load, is to go to Edit > Preferences > Startup, and change the path of the Scene from
    C:/Users/Jewels/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library/ Genesis/Genesis.dsf
    To
    C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\People\Genesis\fGenesis.DUF
