Freelancers, how do you guys find clients?

I'm a freelancer but I'm having trouble getting clients. What are your tips?

    Are you talking about render commisions or custom images?

     

    If so, narrow your focus to your target demographic. My biggest demographic is RPG'ers (character portraits or fantyasy prints) I get most of my business from my local gaming community via word of mouth and prints sold in the local comic book/gaming store.
