Its just collision settings. The It fits is with the item loading at collide full and then it changes to the settings it uses. Adjust it and you will fix it most of the time. Most items do not have good settings for all possible morphs the figure can use.
Sorry, I know you don't think what you are doing is 'extreme'...but it is. The clothing meshes just aren't designed to fit the shapes you are using. In addition, since the morphs ARE NOT 'standard' there are no prebuilt correctives that can be added to the clothing. What that all adds up to is a not quite fitting right item that uses way too much smoothing/collision iterations to try and compensate.
The only fix, other than not using the morphs, is to export the item into a 3D modelling app and build corrective morphs.
This is usually the result of one or more morphs being doubled up. You need to have Show Hidden checked for the Parameters tab to be able to find and turn off the duplicate morphs, they are often under Other.
Transform just happens to be selected, and has nothing to do with it.
The menu I am showing is the drop-down menu in the Parameters pane, which you can access by clicking at the top right of the pane, it looks like a small triangle and four lines. See image below:
It is the latest version 4.6.2.118, and that feature has been in DS for a long time now. What version are you using?
You probably need to choose a different Layout in Window > Workspace > Select Layout and use anything but the one marked (beta), which is not recommended.
The Default STYLE of DAZ Studio at install is a BASIC layout. To get all the Menus and tools you should change it to a different Style and Layout. That is done in Windows>Styles and Windows>Layouts I run a custom version of City Limits and Dark Style.
Ok but I am just worried its going to confuse me more. I am sure that that is how the experts do it but I don't know. What is city limits & dark style?
Click on the Parameters tab then go straight up the gray bar. Straight above the tab marked Scene is the box you want. (It's on the opposite side in the default layout than the example.) Hope this helps.
the DAZ Studio interface is 100% customizable. But I think you should learn one of the Advanced styles before you change things. The City Limits as I said in Window> workspace> select Layout is the FULL layout will all tools the Program offers.
Hi, I did a lot of playing with autofit settings with Genesis. I haven't played much with G2F or M as I don't use them but I think the settings would still be similar. If so you can look here where I posted what I was doing...
Mikechristia, in the specific figure example you showed it looks like your character may have some Body Builder morph set. V4 also has a Body Builder morph, if the shorts are for V4 and have some full body morph adjustments, like Body Builder, built in to them Auto-Fit will preserve those morphs. Those preserved morphs are under either Imported or Other ( been long time since I dealt with this) and are often hidden. What can happen when these morphs have the same name as Genesis 1 or 2 morph is they get applied in addition to Genesis morph and have to be zeroed out manually. It doesn't happen with all Auto-Fit converted clothing and I haven't bothered to figure why as long as I know how to fix.

EDIT Check smoothing as well.
It's called trying to fit to extreme morphs.

I don't know that's the kinda of body I like on a women so I try to duplicate that so I guess that's why I don't think its extreme.
collision and collide? can I adjust those?

ok I'll try that
Nope there is no show hidden in the parameters tab.
It's in the Parameters pane drop down menu as shown below.
in transform? I don't know what version of DAZ you have but the one I have looks different.

Yea I don't have that different version of Daz.

wow I don't know I am already confused I'm using 4.6
Help > About DAZ Studio, will give you the correct version number,
I have the latest version its just a different setup. I am lost right now this far to complicated then it needs to be.

ok I will try it but I think its going to confuse me
Nothing says you have to. You can swap back at anytime. I just prefer learning a full program than only learning parts of it at a time.
I agree but I just don't want to be on the forum more with my stupid questions.
so what is the hidden part ?
I moved enabled smoothing and moved up collision iterations.
