Daz3d 4.12 crashes when I try to render.

Hello. Recently I built up new pc with new procesor and motherboard but I didnt change my GPU (Geforce 1070). After installing windows, nvidia drivers and daz I tried to render something but sadly shortly after I pressed "render" button this fatal error popped up :

DAZStudio.exe caused UNKNOWN_ERROR in module "C:\Windows\System32\KERNELBASE.dll" at 0033:00000000638FA839, RaiseException()+105 byte(s)

I tried to reinstall drivers but still same issue. So I decided to format ssd and install windows again. But it didnt help also. I even installed cuda toolkit 10.2 (someone suggested doing it here on forums), but it didnt help either.

The weirdest thing is that if I switch to my old hdd and boot system from there I can render whatever I want without any problems.

Im so tired of this - wasted 3 days to make it work. Please maybe someone had similar issue and fixed that somehow.

  • Which drivers, and which version of DS? It doesn't usually cause an application crash but the version of Iray in he current General Release, 4.12.0.86, is known to have ossues with the 440.x drivers - the Public Build, 4.12.1.40, has a new version of Iray that should address at least some of these issues so you may want to try that https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-beta

  • Im using Daz 4.12.0.86 with 441.41. I tried to download Public build but it doesnt show up in my DIM even after checking "hidden" and "public".

  • So on my new SSD I have Daz 4.12.0.86 with 441.41 nvidia drivers. But on my old HDD where DAZ is working correctly I have daz 4.12.0.86 and nvidia drivers 430.86 from april. I tried to uninstall 441.41 and install older drivers but during installation I had an error that older drivers are no longer compatibile with my current version of Windows 10. Im clueless...

I can't force DIM to show me 4.12.1.40 version of DAZ. Is there any way to download it outside DIM?

Betas can only be downloaded and installed with DIM, they need to be installed in a specific way ds o that the beta install will not conflict with the general release when both are installed.

Have you "bought" the beta from the store so it's in your account? If so, can you show us your DIM filters?

I just logged on my account and saw this. So Im guessing this is why I didnt find 4.12.1.40 in my DIM.

Also someone suggested that that error may be popping up because of my ssd drivers or motherboard drivers not working properly.

Those drivers could really cause DAZ error like the one Im getting? SSD is M.2 one.

  • I installed 4.12.1.40, but it didn't work. The error still occurs when trying to render anything. I even tried 4.11 and it didn't work either. I was changing GPU drivers to older ones that work and it didn't work either. How to solve this problem? I don't have any ideas anymore.

You may try cloning your old hdd then. If it works fine you at least have a starting point.

  • Hey there hope this helps. i have a nvidia card. i uninstalled geforce experience . doesnt crash anymore

Has Windows been updating itself or your drivers?

  • This error refer to low ou non existent Virtual Memory
Try to increase your Virtual Memory, and solve this error

  • Fiddling with virtual memory settings is rarely a good diea, and I'm certainly not clear why you think it would apply here.

Its one of safest things you can do and its something everyone should do as for years default settings are simply wrong for any scenario. As for the situation some on Japanese board fixed same error in DAZ by setting proper vitual memory - same for lowest and highest value, as for size it depends on your drive and amount of RAM you have so its indyvidual. Default setting or different lowest/highest amount often result in unexpected behevior if windows needs to actually use virtual memory.

If it's what you think it is, you would get this error

Your system is low on virtual memory. To ensure that Windows runs properly, increase the size of your virtual memory paging file. For more information, see Help

Edit; Setting virtual memory is doable and safe as hell. I also have my pagefile.sys wiped every time I restart my computer. You can spread it out across drives to increase the size and speed of the pagefile system.

When you have Kernel32.dll Error there is a problem when the Daz program tries to access the .dll that is in protected memory, not virtual

I am happy to report that there is a way to fix this problem.

4 Methods to Fix the Kernelbase.dll Error on Windows 10 (minitool.com) applies to all windows from 7 up to 10

Good luck. These are the 4 easy methods.

I don't have any page file or "virtual memory" allocated at all on any of my drives.

I even disabled kernel paging in the registry.

You'll need a good amount of RAM to do this though.

    My system has 128GB

    No crashing problems here.

A log from DS when the crash happens and maybe the crash dump from Windows (if it made one) would go along way to solving this problem.

So which website do you want the fix from? Tom's hardware? Wikidll? livewiire?  I give a person the easy way to fix it. I could tell the person the long way if you want. if they want to do all the reg-editing. Each step is tried and true way to fix the problem. I did with discord when it went to crap. There is an update file on the Microsoft website that fixes the problem. A lot of you all don't want to have windows to update. Don't blame you.

By the way what tech background do you have?

    Edit:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files (microsoft.com)

I don't use it either 128 Gb here also.

Edit: I should say on this system my laptop does have a pagefile.

Why do you leave all this out?

Have you tried the fix I suggested? This error is commonplace among gamers.
