Some questions about backwards compatibility (from a Daz Studio 4.6 Pro newbie).
Hi.
I suppose these concerns have already been discussed in certain threads on this forum, so sorry in advance if my concerns have already been addressed.
Having just started on Daz for the first time, I need all the correct info I can get. I don’t want to buy products that I might later discover won’t work. I want to use Genesis 2 Female and V6, but most of the stuff I’d want to use was made for V4.
Can poses/morphs/clothing/hair/skin textures made for V4/Genesis/V5 be used on Genesis 2 figures (like V6 and/or Olympia 6)?
If so, will I need some special add-ons/plug-ins? A list of such products would be most helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Poses will semi work but will need to be corrected by hand often.
Morphs will not transfer to the G2F figure at this time, there is not a tool to convert them to G2's at this time.
Clothing will autofit to the G2F figures if you buy the V4 shape for the G2F figure. Some better than others.
Hair can also be Autofit with the V4 shape installed or hand positioned and parented, I do both to see which works the best.
Textures will also Auto fit if you have the V4 shape, they will need to be saved in duf format first I think but work.
And I'm sure I've not mentioned all the info. I'm on my first cup of coffee for the day so not up to full speed yet. So this might be off in places, I think I'm still half asleep.
Thanks for the reply. Appreciated.
Would these products be helpful, perhaps?
Generation 4 Legacy Shapes for Genesis 2 Female(s)
Generation 5 Legacy Shapes for Genesis 2 Female(s)
Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female
V4 Skins Auto Converter for Genesis 2 Female(s)
Any others I should look for?
They certainly will help you but only the V4 shape is really needed. I myself do have all you listed to make my life easier.
http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female is the essential one -- that give you the UVset and autofit clone to be able to use V4 textures and autofit V4 clothing.
Thank you for Linking to the ONE item Mike. I keep overlooking that all users might not understand what Shape means.
