The Legacy files are the older content, if your filters are set correctly, they wont show, unless you are using an older version of DAZ Studio
Trust the filters.
The best way is to set your Filter for just the version of program your using. Then DIM will only show the files needed for that one program. I often set mine for each program I own at boot of DIM.
Example I have Bryce so if I bought Bryce content I change my DIM to Bryce only then set my path. Close DIM open it again and get only Bryce content. Then I do the same for Poser9 and then DAZ Studio 3 and lastly DAZ Studio 4.6. Its easy to set each time unless you buy content often.

Just be aware that some products are only available in legacy. Such as Lady Blaze for Genesis. There is no non-legacy version for that atm.
In those cases the package won't be labeled "Legacy", it will just be labeled "DS" and will be tagged for both DS4.0 and DS4.5+.
You sure about that?
I stand corrected. Never saw a package labeled "Legacy" when there wasn't a separate DS4.5 version.
