Thank you :) The texture I used here is from the Naiad character http://www.daz3d.com/naiad with adjustments to the shaders via Snarlygribbly's EZSkin since I use Poser for rendering. The basis for the morph was Naiad too but with lots of adjustments to get more of an Afro-Caribbean look to her (at least in my mind, don't know if I succeeded).
Glad another Sickleyield morph pack has been released. Annoyed that the promos wound up the way they did again. I wanna know what Daz wants out of this but I guess there's no point in making a huge fuss.
@dune411412: I think the shaders look good but the lighting itself is kinda bugging me. Especially with the first one, the second seems fine in the lighting.
hi zamuelnow
thanks for the insight on my image but can you tell me a little more on what is bugging you about the first one. does it need more shadow, or is the sunset background getting to you,
That's the problem, I can't place my finger on just what needs updating with it. It's not a bad image. I'm curious, what's your lighting setup?
there is not a lot of light, I was not going for a lot of details so there is just uberenviroment2 and a specular light overhead with shadow, as I said not a lot of lighting tried to keep is simple on the first one
It's an interesting image. When I look at it, the couple looks like they are cast out of Bronze. I think there's too much specular reflection. Also, if that's supposed to be the sunset behind them, the side facing the camera would be in shadow, hence quite dark. It's virtually impossible for a 3D render engine, or a camera to duplicate the dynamic range of the Human eye. You have to strike a balance. The second render is cool, but there might also be a little too much specular reflection.
@Kalypso, that's a really beautiful render! A photo from the 1920's? ;-)
My guess would be that if they show the promos textured, customer support will get hit with a dozen customer tickets wondering why the "characters" they just bought are missing textures. Promos being left un-textured pretty much screams that is what you get - morphs. Use your preferred textures.....
Just a guess...
Their skin is a little too slick, I think. It doesn't look plastic-like, but it doesn't quite look skin-like either. I can understand if they are supposed to look wet or oily, but it seems to be just a bit too much.
Thanks! That's close but I was going more for a 30s torch singer look :)
Added Keshi and Cassia to the first post. Feel like I'm forgetting something recent though.
Felicitations from Felicity! Larger version available at the dA site in the link in the sigfile.
Title: Stone Lover
Felicity is lovely. Too bad she didn't get a boyfriend ...
after looking into this thread for the first time I want to show this finished today after visiting rendercandy
Did you get Christmas Holly. She beautiful and her skin texture is very good. If you've already listed this sorry for the repeat.

Forgive me, I've been really behind on updates recently. I hope to get the first page more current soon.
Timing is a funny thing. I get the first page updated, only to find out about a new cornrow hairstyle. Has versions for a few different figures: http://www.runtimedna.com/Ony-by-Aeon-Soul/
Gotta figure out what would be the best way to update the first page with it.
Godin released Shandra as a Rosity Prime product. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/vh-shandra/103781/
I made my first real ethnic char with Genesis 2 the other day: THE ALCHEMIST
Nice colours! What is the headpiece she's wearing?
As for Gen 2, I'm pretty sure I've seen people transferring V4 morphs and textures to the Genesis female figure. As a Poser user I can't help you out more but I know it can be done so maybe someone who knows will step in and explain how.
Here's another by Godin. Although an older character set it's still one of my favourites. The awesome headdress is by Rosemaryr at sharecg.
It's called Druid Wings, from Rendo.

However with a aluminum shader, to get the steely, kinda worn look - and reflection removed to speed up the render time.
Hi.
Anyone here have these sets?

If you do, could you tell which UVs they're using? Thanks beforehand.
Oh yes. Here's a render of M6 with Elite Rob. I'm still tweaking the teeth though.
I have Felicity and she uses the V6 UV. She's one of my favorite female characters.
My first ethnic character render. Setup in DAZ Studio 4.6.2.118, rendered in Lux 1.3.1 via Reality plug-in 2.5 for DAZ Studio. I think is pretty good. Suggestions and criticism are welcome!

I really like the Felicity character. I wonder if there are any other hd skins like her on the way.
A picture I made today. She uses the FW Eve skin.
That's an awesome character with Felicity.
FW's V6/G2F characters use V5 UVs explicitly for backwards compatibility with Genesis. He's also open to direct questions about his characters in case you're unsure.
I do wish product pages were better about stating this info.
Outstanding render!
thanks for the links to the products used.
