Intro and request for opinions

Greetings all. My name is Stuart and I've been playing around with 3D grafix for awhile now. I've played with Blender, Poser, Lightwave, and several other programs. I'm totally self taught and have learned just enough to be dangerous. :cheese:

Anyway, what I've been doing lately is designing models with Solidworks, exporting them with a freebie macro in the .obj format and rendering them. Right now I'm using mostly Bryce 7 but I've recently fired lightwave back up (haven't used it in a month of Sundays). The renders that are coming out are, for the most part, not too bad (IMHO) But I'd still like some opinions.

My "topic" is mostly weapons. Mostly sharp pointy ones. I've always had a fascination for swords and daggers, and I've even built a few real ones. These days though, I no longer have a real workshop so I make "virtual" blades.

I'm including a couple of samples with this post and all comments are welcome. I also have a gallery page (click the 3D and Grafix link at the top of the page) on my website.

They look great to me. How do they look from different angles? I started with lighwave when it first came out and never made anything as nice as what you made. My camera has more power than the amega computer that light wave was in.
    Nice work.

    Thanks for the compliments...
These renders were all done in Bryce 7 (free version) I'm still exploring lightwave's rendering options.

Free version? And I just bought 7 pro. Do you know if I bought a Bryce only package in the daz store can I take it to daz 3d and resave it in a scene. In the store there in a battle cruiser bundle and it looks like that is only for Bryce.

There is no longer a free version of Bryce.

Depending how the model is made you should be able to export it from Bryce as an OBJ and then import into DS. However I would ask in the Bryce forum, if you have any problems.
