Confused as to wahat to buy G2 or V6 morphs

Hi all,

I've been using Daz products long ago - the V3 era - and in Poser.
Due to circumstances I had to stop, and now I can start again.
But I'm a bit confused about what I need.

I will be using Daz Studio Pro for stills and help for posing humans to use in my paintings.

What I'm confused about is Genesis 2 and V6. I noticed that there is a Genesis 2 mesh and Genesis2 female morphs, and also V6 (which is based on the G2 mesh) and a Victoria 6 HD add-on (I do have a Win7 64bit machine with 8GBRAM)..

Do I need all these to get started? Or do I omit something, or are there other options?

thanks for your attention,

Erik

Genesis 2 both male and female variants come free with DS 4.6, so they are in your product library (If you have "purchased" DS 4.6), as Genesis 2 Starter Essentials, free of charge, as well as Genesis Starter Essentials for the original Genesis.

You will need the Genesis 2 morphs to give you the ability to morph the Genesis 2 figures.

V6 is an add on character for Gensis 2 Female. The V6 HD morphs are yet another add on, featuring High Definition morphs, which is the latest tech released by DAZ 3D.

Basically if you are going to start again, and use Genesis 2 then I would reccomend that you buy the G2F morph packs as a start, as many characters will rely on you having them, in the same way as you need to have the morphs++ packs when you bought the Gen 4 figures (V4, M4 etc) if you wanted any variety in your characters.

Thanks. Your reply covers all I wanted to know.

Meanwhile I have installed Daz Studio and bought the Genesis2 morphs and V6.
I must say that Studio is about the best designed 3D app I ever used, and the installer is an easy solution to add content.
I could create a simple scene in less than half an hour of getting to know the software. Wow. Not for me, but for the developers!

I'm now watching the Dreamlight tutorials and I'm pretty shure I made the right choice. The V6 - Genesis 2 mesh seems very malleable and the result looks great. The biggest problems of the old days - the breaking of the mesh at extreme bending and the raising arms / shoulder girdle - seem to be much better. There are still some strange things happening, but those can be corrected when needed.

    Thanks again!
