Welcome to the forums, irenedotpeter! :)

Are you using DAZ Studio or another program? If you are using DAZ Studio, you can load Victoria 4 and Michael 4 from the Content Library pane. You'll find them in Poser Formats>My Library*>Figures>DAZ People.

I don't know of a tutorial that covers working with multiple figure. Two things that new users sometimes struggle with--I know I did--are how to load the second figure, and how to select the appropriate character when there are two or more that have loaded in the same exact location. If you have one character loaded and wish to add a second, it helps to deselect the first figure--do this by clicking on a blank part of the screen. Then you can load another figure and the software won't think you're trying to replace the one you already have. If you go to the Scene Pane you'll see a list of everything in the scene; just click on the name of the figure or prop that you want to work with in order to select it. I hope this helps but if it's still not clear, feel free to ask for clarification.

Not sure what you mean by "create the interior room." Are you trying to build a room from scratch, or have you purchased a product that includes an interior room, and you would like to know how to load it? Or, are you asking which product you need to buy in order to have the room featured in the Reflections Furniture promo images? (I think it's the Reflections Victorian Bedroom).

*Or whatever the name of the folder is where your content is installed. If you installed the content using the Install Manager, it might be called "My DAZ 3D Library."

Thanks Scott for explaining this.Yes using the latest non beta Daz Studio.

As I was working on my very first render with the included Genesis figure I was wondering why some figures and options are on the left side while you are suggesting that I can just find them on the right side under content library?

Anyway I have purchased Vic 4 and Mic 4 as well as Reflections Furniture Poses
    http://www.daz3d.com/reflections-furniture-poses
and the required Reflections Furniture combination.
    http://www.daz3d.com/reflections-furniture

I was hoping to put the two figures holding hands for example.

I was also hoping to create the room with the furniture in it and place the two characters in that room.

What I was wondering I guess was what was the workflow for following through to do this.? I think once I get started, it will be sending me in the right direction and I can get going on it myself by experimenting around. THanks a lot.

The location of where the various panes are located is more dependant on the Layout/Style you use than the version of DS.

For Setting up a set you LOAD the PROP and then place it where you wish using the Tools to move it or the Translation Dials in the Parameters tab. You can load as many Props as your PC can handle and still render as long as you have enough FREE RAM to render once you are done. You then load your Characters and POSE them to go with the Set you made. Then you add lighting and Render. I suggest you try one of the Built in tutorials from the lesson bar at the bottom right of your DAZ Studio viewport until you lean the basic steps.

Also reading the Quick Start Guide and User Guide http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/start might help you understand the software more.

I have gone through a few tutorials from Daz you tube site. But they usually start with a character and then tell you to add the background, scene etc. But, I think it might be better to create the scene and then continue with the character. With the scene done first it might be easier to figure out what poses I would need to do and save time that way.

Can a character and scene be made completely seperately and then loaded or combened later?

    Thanks a lot.

P.S. I am going through tutorials as I go along but still have some quetions which sometmies move me forward faster.

Yes you save both as scenes and then merge the scenes

If you see it in Smart Content, feel free to load it from there. I use Smart Content myself, most of the time. But, if you can't find it in Smart Content (some older content won't show up there), or if your Smart Content pane isn't working at all (it can happen), you can always find all your installed content in the Content Library.

    very helpful. thank you.

yes i have been reading through the user guide.

another guide that would be helpful is one that helps people set up certain commoon and not so common processes. I know some of these are already explained in the guide. but it's still for beginners. a little more advanced is going to become another useful thing to read in the very near future.

If I might because I had the same question regarding characters. So if I dress the character and save it as a scene then to get it in to different scenes with the same clothes on I just do a merge?

Or save as a scene subset...the 'normal' load function for a saved subset is to merge it into the current scene.
