Elven causes severe lag

I just purchased Elven dress for Genesis and almost at once noticed that things began to suffer from delays. I thought maybe it was my imagination, so i exited Daz and made sure that i had nothing else at all running.
I then selected Genesis and added the elven dress, actually the cape, and tried to use the adjustment morphs, and there is a definite delay. To be sure i removed the elven dress and elected the onyx outfit and this works fine with no delay apparent.
My machine has adequate memory, and i frequently run Daz with more than a few other applications open without there being any noticeable lag.

Load up the cape and check the smoothing/collisions I'm guessing that both are probably something higher than the default 2 or 3. You can turn the smoothing off on it, until you are ready to render, that way, you won't be waiting around for it, every time you want do do something else. Do the same with the dress...

The smoothing options will be under the item's Parameters...(all/general).

Absolutely correct mjc, the smoothing iterations were set at 20 by default, which i reduced to 2 as this seems to be the norm. I could then move things around without any appreciable lag. Thank you so much

Make sure Interactive isn't turned on for the smoothing and collision. That causes a really bad lag.

I don't have that product, so I can't test it. If it loads with Interactive turned on, you would be doing a service to the community to file a bug report. Just look at how frustrating is it was for you.

I have seen this problem recently on more than one clothing product. Seems to be a new "trick" of some clothing creators, not spend much time on fitting the mesh, not spend much time on fitting morphs, but try to cure everything with extremely high smoothing settings. If I were you, I would simply return this product.
