Another stupid question - Daz Studio's Smart content not appearing

This is probably another one of those "I've done something stupid" things...

For some reason, none of my installed Genesis content outside of the various Genesis starter packs shows up in my Smart Content tab - if I want to load anything, I have to manually select it from the Content Library tab. I've tried to reimport the metadata (thinking that might do it) but it doesn't seem to make any difference at all. Is there something fundamental I've missed here? Is it because my Genesis content is in a runtime library on a separate drive?

It's not a huge issue if I can't find a cure, it's just a little niggly thing...

So the Genesis Starter content does show up in Smart Content, but nothing else? When you reimport metadata, are the other products listed?

Yep - the whole lot is listed there, and when I re-import metadata it gives a long progress window which it runs through, however nothing really seems to change. Although, having just looked now, it's showing one set of poses, and one extra haircut, rather than the large amount of content I should have...

Does it make a difference if you have Genesis selected or nothing selected? On the Content Library tab, do the missing items show up in Products or Categories?

It doesn't seem to matter what I've got selected in the "Scene" section of the right hand panel - both the Files and Products section are empty, apart from the Genesis Starters and the male sunny hair....

I think what it might be is that I'm loading my content from one location (F:\Poser Content\Genesis) and the Smart Library is not looking in that folder, but I can't see where that setting is, or where it might have been changed.

For smart content you have to have the correct figure selected. For example, if you want to find clothes for Genesis, you have to have a Genesis figure selected in the scene.

Did any of this other Genesis content ever have Smart content?

Was this other Genesis content purchased from the DAZ store? Another store? Free content?

Most content purchased from other stores or free content will not have smart content. Most Genesis content purchased from the DAZ store should have smart content, but there could be exceptions.

If the content was purchased at the DAZ store, you can check your CMS data base to see if it is having problems. Go to C:\ProgramData\DAZ 3D\Content Management Service\ logs on a PC (no idea where this is on a mac). Look at the log files in that directory to see if they have any messages that look like errors.

And inside F:\Poser Content\Genesis there are Data, People, Runtime, etc.?

Everything is from the Daz3D store, so I would expect there to be something there - I'll have a quick look at the CMS database and see if there's anything in there...

... And in the Vlogs folder with today's date there's a log file and almost every line has an error on it :S

Yep - DSIM installs everything to F:\Poser Content\Genesis, and then I manually rearrange the runtime folder (and only the runtime folder) to structure everything when I'm working in Poser - all the other subfolders are left intact.

This sounds to me like the data base is corrupt.

Do you have any user data? Have you manually categorized any items?

I had manually catagorized a number of pieces whilst trying to sort out missing Poser CF files (before I changed the method I worked), so going with the theory of a corrupt database I did a complete reset of the database, then manually re-imported all the metadata and it seems to have solved the problem :)

    Thanks for everything guys!
