Nor will the mods, unless they auto-resize.

Sorry to disappoint, but I don't like forum tamagotchis. In the old forums, I had the dragon egg stuff blocked, mainly because the server hosting the pics was often badly lagged. This meant a page would not completely load until every last dragon egg crawled over the intertubes and into my system. Blocking them meant pages loading in seconds rather than up to a minute.

So THAT'S why the pages loaded slowly sometimes... I wondered about that. Well when we get our avatars and pictures in our sig lines perhaps WistWereTheDayz can think of a better solution!

Umm.. it's not your PC that HOST's the eggs Wist. The DRAG comes from them loading into the Forum from the slow Host server. The one we have to goto to Help the egg grow up.

I do not see any way she can think of a better solution. She is not in charge of the dragon cave site. She can only three things, post her eggs here, post a link to her scroll or not post them at all.

The Dragon Cave forum knows a way to prevent posting their eggs to their forums so it is possible to have linked images but not permit certain types, but that has to be an admin choice not Wist's choice. she is not the only one who uses Dragon Cave or other similar sites. she is the one who started this thread not the one who controls all pet/plant sites that has images to post into signatures.

    ditto what Miss Wolf wrote.

if the time ever comes we can put eggs in our sigs and you want my eggs and hatchlings to die,
in FF you right-click the image and use the block option. Assumes  other browsers have a similar option.

or put me on your ignore list.

Never on the ignore list. If I have problems I'll try, from my end, to block the eggs in FF. I'm sorry, I didn't know that this is a site, I thought they were images from your server. My apologies...

i can post a pic of the egg by uploading it but that will not help me get views for the egg.

I uploaded an image of my latest egg. it does no good.
if I could do it like this

    <img src="http://dragcave.net/image/ogOgX.gif"; alt="" />
which would allow that egg to be viewed and gain views.

Sorry. I did not know I was acting uncivil.

How can I improve my attitude?

I was not for or against the eggs, it does not matter to me. If they work I'm all for it, let people have fun I say. I just pointed out the reason for the slow load time.

Wasn't directed to anybody in particular. The conversation was just starting to lead down the road where people start getting upset with each other.

    okay, thanks.

I have lots of dead eggs because of failed vampire tries. in dragon cave, there is a type called vampires. In order to get them an adult vampire has to bite an egg to turn it into a vampire. there are three things could happen, the egg gets turned into a vampire egg, the egg turns to a vampire egg but get repulsed by your other dragons so it goes into the abandoned cave, or it dies. i had a lot die on me lately.

The problem with the Dragon cave pets (and othrs of the same type) is that the images get larger than the forum limit on signature banners. It is, in any event, academic at the moment as we can't link a live image at all - it has to be uploaded to the forum, and signature banner images aren't being rendered at all (though if you watch as the page loads you may see the frame for the banner pop up briefly).

I think that the eggs and hatchlings are almost always under the limit but the adults are usually over the limit. they just need to be removed from the signature once they grow up. adult dragons do not need views at all.

I thought there was some kind of resize html code that could resize the adult dragons or other too big adoptables to the right size.

There was in the old forums, but we don't know what it will be like in this forum. THat will have to wait till we see what the Tech guys come up with.

Also with dragon cave, adult dragons (who are the ones who are too big for the signatures) do not need views anyway. Maybe there could be a policy that once the dragons grow up and they are too big, the mods could either pm the person about it or remove the adult from the signature.
