I am creating a website and I would like to use a few rendered images using the basic male actor in DAZ Studio 4.6. I have been snooping around the internet and on this forum but I cant find the right answer if a license or permission is required from DAZ. I am having trouble understanding the user agreement since it has many parts. I understand that there is a special agreement for game developers but i cant find any info on rendering images.

    You can use any render you create in any manner you wish. IOW, I have lots of images I've render in various sites' galleries.

    What you can't do is use any product (or part thereof) you buy here in a package you plan to sell from your own site, or any 3D brokerage site such as DAZ3D, or any of the other sites offering 3D products. That would be a copyright violation. The copyright of any renders you create belongs to you, so you can post it here in the DAZ3D galleries, or on your own site.

    Thank you for the quick reply.

    The reason I am asked is because I am using DAZ software content (male model) to generate images for my own website.

    Its not my original content or something I have created.... besides changing parameters. I am still not sure how this works.. I have also

    sent an email to support but I have not received an answer.

    As long as you are not stealing images form someone else or distributing the 3D mesh you will be fine. You did the right thing by contacting support. They will be able to answer better than anyone else

    From the EULA,

    User may (i) access, use, copy and modify the Content in the creation and presentation of two-dimensional animations and renderings, (ii) incorporate two dimensional images (including two dimensional images that simulate motion of three dimensional objects) derived by User from the Content in User’s other works, and (iii) publish, market, distribute, transfer, sell or sublicense User’s two-dimensional animations, renderings and other works;

    My website is full of images made using DAZ 3D software and products, in fact it is all images made using said software and products.

    Hi guys

    I have not been here in while hope all is going well... I sent a message to support a few days ago and i have not had a reply yet.. My question is what about video renders using the stock model does that require any license? or is that considered 2d content just like images? thanks.

    Yes the same
    convincing Google ADsense may be harder though, I monetise my videos and the silly buggers think it is gaming footage sometimes and inspite of linking DAZ EULA and proof of purchase they have remained unconvinced and keep asking what game I used, but that is stupid people unfamiliar with 3D animation renders not DAZ, DAZ certainly says its ok.

    As long as it's 2D data, and not a flat render of a texture file, it is covered by the base EULA whether it's moving or still - even if it's pseudo-3D (the way current films are, using two 2D renders to generate the effect) it is covered by the basic EULA.

    What did you set as the contact department for your ticket?

    Ah That dept is for people who want to become a Published artist (ie PA or, if you prefer, vendor) on the DAZ 3D store.

    To contact Support you should have used the "Contact Us" and submitted a help ticket
