What....where...how... I seem to have lost my materials, lol
OK...just now well and truly getting into the 20-landscape tut by David Brinnen, thanks, David, for packing so much info into one beginner tut...no way I would have found out so much elsewhere, in just one go...but anyway...
When I press M for Materials all I get are the basic David Brinnen default ones. I need a water material and texture like, yesterday, but i don't know where they are. Of course they're on my hard drive but I seem to have done something wrong, they arent showing up... I tried to follow exactly what Chohole said but still, I've erred somewhere...got things misplaced. Need a bit of guidance here so I can be on my way...
My program file path is Program Files (x86) > DAZ 3D > Bryce 7 . I'm listing the current contents of each of the main content & materials subfolders.
At the moment my Presets contain:
Brushes, Leaves, Materials, Objects, Skies, Textures, Trees, Tree Shapes.
Content contains:
Presets, Materials, Pro Materials, etc.
My Temp Folder contains:
Content (Models and Textures), HDRI, Lens Flares, Light Gels, Scene Files, Tuts

ok, in your Bryce application folder (using windows explorer) You should see this 1st image
Click on presets You should the see this 2nd image
Click on materials and you should then see this 3rd image
If you don't see them like this, let me know and we will have to try finding them for you
WH00PS!! I see ONE part missing... In my Materials, Pro Materials is missing...
Whoo Hoo!! I found it and copied it over, now there's a truckload of materials in there, under Pro materials...
Thanks, Chohole :)
You say that you have a content folder. You shouldn't have that, Bryce needs all it's presets in the preset folder
Pro Materials was copied over (not cut and pasted in case something went wrong) and seems to work normally now. Should I take the remainder of my contents out of the Contents subfolder and copy or paste them to the preset folder?
I would. DId you read Horo's PDF that I think I linked you to. That is even more specific as to where things should go.

Going there now... Been way too long, I thought I had all the ducks in a row, but I guess not ...
Meanwhile I have a reasonably acceptable rendering happening, based on the tutorial mentioned above... I will try to show it here, for feedback which of course helps my progress... It isn't great but it is certainly better than earlier efforts...just things I don't understand yet, but it will come. ;)
