Victoria 5 is Genesis. Victoria 6 is Genesis 2 Female (G2F). G2F has been optimized for a female shape and is better for more realistic female character. IMO you don't NEED V6 for G2F as the starting basic female shape is better than Genesis's basic female shape, the only reason to get V6 is to get the add UV mapping that comes with her and used with some other character packs.
Victoria 6 for G2F is the same as Victoria 5 is for Genesis. It is a new shape for body and face and a new texture which uses the SubsurfaceShader. So you have to decide if you need it.

Yes, I know. But does it look better? And if so, in what way does it look better?
The promo images show very exactly how she looks. So you can compare it with the base figure you are using (G2F) and see the differences and if you like it or not. As said before V6 is not a must, it is an addition, just like Gia 6 or Olympia 6 or any other character made for G2F.
Edit: In my opinion, V6 has a much more detailed body compared to V5. Especially the belly region. Almost too much detail for my needs :-)
Here is a quick comparison of V5 (black bikini) with V6 (red bikini). V6 is a taller than V5. They are both at the same distant. The pose was a V5 pose. I had to adjust it a bit for V6.
Thank you for the comparison. Unless they have different lighting you have convinced me to get V6.
The lighting is the same for both. In fact this is a single render with them posed next to each other.
The lighting is one distant light with ray raced shadows and shadow softness of 20% and an advanced ambient light with intensity around 30%. This is a gamma 2.2 render.
Added: The difference in appearance of the skin has a lot to do with how the skin material is set up. V5 uses UberSurface shader and V6 uses the AoA subsurface shader. V5 has diffuse strength of 90% and subsurface strength at 50%, but with a control texture that reduces the effective strength of the subsurface effect (maybe 20-25%?). V6 has diffusion strength at 50% and subsurface strength at 75% with no control texture.
You could change the V5 skin to use the AoA shader with stronger subsurface scattering, but I have not done this.
V6 is not JUST V5 from Genesis1 on the G2F mesh. The G2F mesh has EXTRA mesh added to certain parts of the figure to enhance the female shaping and also for better bends at joints and the use of Flexons if turned on. The Same Applies the the G2M, different mesh and also enhanced for Male body and face shapes as well and bending at joint rotations. DAZ 3D did not take the Time to create a NEW set of figures Optimized for the figure shape for fun. There are differences in Genesis and Genesis 2, they might not LOOK much different but I for one can tell you they Animate Different and that alone is a big improvement in my view.
Does anyone NEED the figures? That is up to the user in my view. Do I need A3 Pro or Lorrenzo? Probably not but I have them and still find them useful. If you can use a item, that is my only need for content. Want a V6 based character? Then you might need V6.
