Can I have two duplicate panes?

I am sure you have faced this situation. That you have to navigate Content library window, to multiple folders constantly, and it is painful. is it possible that I can open multiple content library panes, so that I can easily access content?

  • No, but what you can do for a project is make a folder at one place, from the other folders, on the icon right-click and "copy" it, go to the collection folder and "paste" it into the blank space where the icons go. Each item has to have its own name so you might end up nesting a few folders but they'd be all in one place. You can put lights, shoes, hats, etc. all into the same folder(s).

  • Yeah, I think thats the work around to follow for now... Hope DAZ adds this feature in future!

Actually you can you just need to break the workspace into work panes like the Hollywood Blvd Workspace layout, then each work pane can have its own Content Library pane that is independent of the others.

Not, unless it's chnaged, fully independent - using the Back button will go through the folders you have had open in any activity tab in the order in which you saw them.

Yeah I haven't found workpanes option anywhere either!

I guess they are called activity panes or windows.  I have a custom layout that adds new activities or departments as I like to think of them and in each one the the Content Library pane is independent of the others.

    jestmar,

How did you create your custom layout ?

I saved a copy of the Hollywood Blvd layout and started hacking that .dsx file.

I that how you started yours ?

Do you have any tips or warnings on customizing ?

The standard method would be to move stuff around as desired, add any custom actions and put them in menus and/or on toolbars through Window>Workspace>Customise, and then Window>Workspace>Save Layout.

I couldn't see how to create new 'Activity Pane' tabs.

So I created a bunch of empty one by editing a user layout .dsx file

Then added panes to them and further customized with Window>Workspace>Customise

    thanks
