Seeking help setting up Poser 10 to use Daz Content on a Mac
Well, I thought this would be a straight forward process but I've been pulling out my hair for about a week trying to set up my Poser 10 on a Mac to use Daz 3D content.
I pride myself in being able to get a handle on using software and learning my way around fairly quickly but this has been a nightmare! I was put off by the learning curve (and the price) of higher end 3d programs but I am honestly beginning to wonder if the time that I've invested in trying to simply set up a work environment in either DazStudio or Poser could have been spent instead with a program that has decent documentation and a logical workflow. ARGH!!!
(Rant Over)
I've decided that I'd like to use Poser 10 with Daz content (Genesis figures are amazing!). I am working on a Mac also.
So, I was able to install some external runtime folders for older content, like Victoria 4. I'm not sure this is correct but what I did was to create a folder on my documents drive, then drag the Victoria 4 folder inside the external runtime folder. I rename the "Content" folder inside to "Victoria 4" so that it shows up correctly in the Poser library. Then, I go to the Poser library and point to the Runtime inside the Victoria folder.
That seems to work and I've done it with other older content.
For Genesis, I tried to use DSON importer. It seems to work because I have the basic Genesis Essentials loaded but I cannot load any other Genesis content no matter what I try.
Hoping someone can just explain in clear step by step terms, how I should set up this environment... to use older Daz content as well as newer Genesis in Poser 10 on a Mac.

The approach should be the same, as long as you install both the Core package and the Poser Companion Files. Usually you select the folder that holds the Runtime folder, not the Runtime folder itself, when adding a location to Poser (or DAZ Studio).
