Making A Figure Poseable- Is It The Bones? Best Place To Start Tutorials?
I'm not quite sure if what I am asking is even correct, so apologies in advance.
I got Silo, not used it yet. But if I create a figure in Silo, how do I go from a static thing-a-ma-jiggy to making it poseable? Would I bring it into DAZ as an obj file? If so, what video or tutorial can speed me along? I've thumbed through some forum topics but as usual, there are terms that relate to other things that aren't explained, I got lost, nothing new. I am assuming I need to add bones to the object?
The other question is, can that be done in Silo? You Silo pros- help?! :)

Did you try here... http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=silo+3d+modeling&sm=12 I also found this http://www.amazon.com/3D-Modeling-Silo-Official-Guide/dp/0240814819 http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/?do=googlecustomsearch&id=creating+bones Hope it helps Trish
Thanks Trish! :) Am also curious as to what can be done in DAZ since I'm at least slightly (grin, ever so slightly) familiar with it. I ordered the Silo book but it hasn't arrived yet.
DAZ Studio 4.6 comes with all the creation tools needed except the Mesh editor. Riggin, morphs and all except UV mapping, normally done in the Mesh app, and Texturing is possible with DS.
maybe try this http://www.daz3d.com/tutorial-sale/rigging-original-figures-in-ds4-pro

Thanks everyone :) I started going through my product library, and found those two things- so I can start reading.
BTW, got the Silo book and very easy to read, just thumbed through it as it arrived today. Lots of illustrations and good step by step- easy to follow. (3D Modeling In Silo- The Official Guide. Got it on Amazon)
Just took a look at the Silo vid that Trish suggested. Very interesting!! Novica, my hat is off to you! Way ahead of where I'm at just getting started in DAZ but it looks like fun!!
I did a silly video in response to a Blender one that may interest you
thank you Wendy! i'll check it out :)
I like this video! I book marked it. Nice! I did not see the whole thing so if got really funny I have not got to that part yet. But yeah, I was getting the idea of how to rig something from watching it. I've watched another clip Wendy did and found it to very educational as well. Thanks for sharing.
