Content mngmnt issue as always

Ok my content management is a nightmare since 4.6. I have uninstalled and re installed not only CM but Daz 3d entirely and still can not search my directories or add tags to items. I doubt anyone has a fix for this I just get told to uninstall and re install but I thought I would give it a shot. OK my other question is how do I clear the inventory in Daz 3D and rebuild it?

Thanks

I am using the 64 bit version, and my database files are stored in :

    C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\Content Management Service\databases

There are 5 files in that folder, and four of them are called 'ContentDB' with four different file extensions, .blb, .dat, .ind, and .vdb. There is also a file called 'master.vdb'. What you need to do, is to delete them, (or move them if you are not sure), and the next time you run DAZ Studio, these will be rebuilt.

You will need to use the Content DB Maintenance menu from the Content Library pane, and reimport your Metadata. If you have Catetgories of your own, that you have created, you should save your User data first, then reimport that as well after removinig the database files.

It isn't difficult to do, and doesn't take that long, depending on how many items you have installed. It is the only way I know of to start again if the database files are corrupted.

If you need further help, please ask. Make sure that you have your User data backed up first before getting rid of the database files.

    What OS?

If on Windows, when you updated to 4.6 did you let your AV know that you updated?

Antivirus apps can play havoc with the CMS, because it is a server and if the AV is blocking it, no matter what you do, it won't work. And if you update the server app, depending on the AV it may or may not recognise that it was updated...
