Here I am. I have a clothing item (jacket) that I've fitted to the model. It works fine and I want to save it to use in other scenes.

How exactly do I do this?

I tried to google but there are so many version..at one place I saw

"Save As> Support Asset> DSF Figure or Prop File... "

But there are no such thing in my DAZStudio_4.0.3.47_Win64.

?

That item is right at the bottom of the Save as list, under Support Asset.

just save as scene DUF and merge it when needed

What is DUF format and what is the advantage of it over DSF? I saved in an external runtime in DSF format and everything works perfectly. (so far)

.duf is a scene file, with pointers to external content (.dsf figures and props, OBJ files and Poser files). If you don't save your clothes as a DSF figure and do save the scene as a .duf file (in DS 4.5) then the clothes will be embedded in the .duf file - which will be larger as a result. I would suggest saving as a DSF figure, at least once you have the thing nearly finalised.

Ok, but I keep the alternative in mind.
