Exporting figures to Vue

edited December 1969 in New Users

I'd like to animate figures in Daz, and import them into Vue for scenery. I've tried following videos to do this, but things don't match up with the versions I'm using. I've tried exporting using collada, but the materials come across with global reflectivity set to 100%m abd the animation is not saved.

I'm using Daz Studio 4.6 and Vue 8 Esprit with the import module.

Any help?

    Hiya

I've never imported animations from Daz to Vue but have imported the figures as an .obj file many a time. I think (I could be wrong here) importing as a collada file would lose the animation set up. Do the figures look like they're made of chrome when importing into Vue? if so, after you've imported it into Vue, click on the figure and then right click on the top right of the Vue screen where the materials for your import are, right click and scroll all the way to the bottom and select Edit all Materials'. This will bring up the material editor for the whole model. From there I change the bump depth to something more acceptable like 0.00002 and then go to the highlights tab. Change the two left hand reflectivity bars to anything between 18-25%. This will make the figure look a lot better. you can then go and amend individual items like skin and eyes or anything that needs greater reflectivity.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers
