Works in latest version of studio but its very sensitive...This hopefully will be handed over to a new dev team as previous one no longer does scripts for Daz. Discussions are in place.

...so it sounds as if there are some conflicts with 4.20 (still have 4.15 as a backup installed)
Aside from that I was also wondering if it will transfer morphs like those from the "200 Plus" sets, Natural Petite Morphs, Body Morph Kit and other add on morph utilities.
so my Xtransfer is crashing now at like 85 to 90% and when it does I load up daz there are a few transfer there but they are messed up it worked fine on my laptop I have no idea why its not working on my desktop I have restarted my computer and it still crashes daz.

so after some more diging it looks like the directory was set to the wrong location and I copied over some files from my laptop that worked and now its working
If I use an old Studio beta to do the XTransfer, then close the beta and open current general release Studio version, will I be able to utilize the previously converted morphs?
I bought Xtransfer recently and tried to convert few figures today, first couple (Imogen and Eliya) went OK, the process was:
1. load G3 basic female
2. apply the character morph, mark it as favorite
3. run the script
then I did the same with Blaire, and I noticed the teeth being rounded, ugly looking, and then to my surprise I see that ALL G8 and G8.1 characters, basic or morphed, customized and saved as presets, have this exact same problem, I tried dialing all the morphs to zero, that didn't help, it had no effect on the teeth, body/head morphs have no effect on the teeth, well, they do, but they turn them even uglier
all G3 seem to be unaffected, and G8 males are fine too, but all G8 and 8.1 are screwed up now, and I'm 100% positive it was after that Blaire conversion, the only thing I did with it was to run it the second time, I noticed that eyeballs are too small and kind of not in the right place on the converted morph, that is why I reran the script again (steps 1. to 3. like earlier), didn't help, then I loaded the orginal Blaire again and see that the problem is already there, there is a slight gap between the eyeball and the socket, nothing that a little scaling and positioning can't fix
I tried googling for a solution, but nothing useful comes up. It "feels" like some basic G8F and G8.1F shape has been altered somehow, since the problem is already present in the dev load figure, any ideas how to fix this?
One thing I have done with my Daz installation was to use the "hack" where you delete some of the Daz 8.1 expression morphs to get the older G8F head expressions working, but I had done it months ago and it didn't cause any problems right up until today I fiddled with the Xtransfer
here is a pic of how the teeth look on different figures:
When you load the dev G8F or G8.1F what morphs are active? Click on currently used. That will tell you what morphs are being auto dialed and if any of them are from Xtransfer. If it is from Xtransfer simply delete that morph from the Xtransfer folder in data.
after a bit more googling I found a post on deviant talking about Mouth realism morphs causing similar problems, and lo and behold for some reason I now have all G8 females load with a morph called "XT Mouth Realism HD" dialed to 100% loaded by default, turning it to 0 fixes the issue, so how do I get rid of it? and why does it even load on all G8 figures dialed to 100? It allso doesn't show up as "Currently used" either, since its 100% by default...
so, how to delete it from my Daz so it doesn't load on all G8 figures?
p.s. and it wouldn't be a bad thing to fix the behavior of the script that dialed that morph in at 100% on all G8 figures
p.s.s. My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\XTransfer\DAZ 3D\Base - this is the path the offending morph was created, I deleted it and it fixed the issue, but the question still stands - why does the script create that morph in the first place, I had only dialed in the Blaire character morph and favorited it, and I was under the impression that XT creates all the associated morphs in their respective creator paths, but this one got created (and much worse, dialed to 100% by default) in the Daz folder
it's a bit too late in the day to recreate the circumstances to find out what exactly led to this, but I'm sure no morphs from XT should load themselves on all figures by default at 100%, something that definitely needs fixing
The userguide tells you how to remove unwanted XT Morphs. All XTransfer morphs are inside one folder in data. Simply remove it from there.
"p.s. and it wouldn't be a bad thing to fix the behavior of the script that dialed that morph in at 100% on all G8 figures"
We cannot control the behaviour of morphs if that is what they meant to do by design. Simply don't include it next time in a transfer. There is a linked section that you can uncheck morphs you don't want included when doing a transfer.
I fiddled with this this morning to recreate the problem and found that it wasn't the Blaire figure that caused this, but the Caitlin character morph, the sequence was the same - load G3 base figure, apply Caitlin morph, favorit the Caitlin base, head and body morphs, start the XT script (which turned mouth realism to 0%), then I switch to the Favorite Morphs tab and see the Mouth Realism HD checked as linked, note that I did nothing other to that G3 base figure than apply the Caitlin character morph, nor did I check the "Visible" morphs, it was checked already when I opened the tab, this then led to the creation of the "XT Mouth Realism HD" morph being dialed at 100% by default (which I still think is a very wrong thing for the script to do, the 100% part I mean)
Note that I (completely new user of the XT script) did not check/uncheck the Visible morphs, it was checked once opened the script tab already, so I initially just continued with the default settings not realizing what is about to happen
I hope google search bots pick this up and the next person running into this issue can find the solution quickly
Zev0, thanks for the quick replies, shows that creators care for their product end users!
attached are screenshots of the settings and the result
Mine seemed to just hang at 85% and wouldn't do anything. Eventually finished processing after 11 minutes.
I was transferring a single character's morphs, head / alt head / body / alt body, the were 3 additional jcms or whatever they're called, no other morphs or additionals.
Is it supposed to take that long?
I'm using a Macbook Pro M1 Max (the most powerful one).
Hi. On some figure shapes for some reason it does "Hang" but it isn't frozen, If that makes sense. Some shapes transfer immediately. We don't know if this is because of peoples OS, or another factor, or studio itself.
I am trying to convert P3D's Chandra, and as a test Summer for V7.
When the script gets to 71% Daz crashes out to the desktop. I've done a full restart of my machine, and it has happened again.
The last thing the script says is 'reading Summer.dsf'
What can I do? I would like this model to be a G8.
(an hour later) OK, from bad to worse... Now when i load a G8 model it ends up like this, or crashes my machine, even after I have uninstalled XTransfer..
(The next day)
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Daz and I'm having the same distortion problem.

Please disregard the above. It didn't work for me, I didn't receive a reply to this post, I have requested a refund.
I've had a lot of issues with doing conversions lately. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH XTRANSFER. My library for G3 is messy to say the least, and now its just messy and huge for G8. XTRANSFER kept dying no matter what I tried to do with my transfers. (I have an idea about this.. but it takes ages to test and try things.)
I hit on the idea of building another basic library for whatever I'm trying to transfer. I just loaded Genesis 3 and Genesis 8 essentials, and ONLY the required elements for what I wanted to transfer including XTRANSFER. This worked just fine.
1) You need to build you basic library for this by downloading G3 and G8 essentials then manually unzipping them into an 'essentials' library. Make sure you have XTransfer in there as well.
2) You can add the stuff you want to transfer to G8 to the 'essentials' library, but I prefer to use a 'test' library. In that library just manually install all the items and required dependances.
3) Configure Daz to use your 'essentials' library and 'test' library.
4) *I'm not sure if you need to do this, but I did, I cleared the cache, and loaded G3F and G8F so that would speed up loads and ensure there's no confusion with the old cache. I exited and restarted Daz.
5) Run Xtransfer as before, and it will likely just work since there's no cr*p in your library anymore. The run is also faster... I dump the Xtransfer output to the 'test' library, so its easy to find and deal with.
6) In Daz, Swap back your main library, and remove the 'essentials' library. Clear the cache and exit.
7) *Load a G3F and G8F to rebuild the cache. (This wll bring you back to Daz's usual slow painful aweful load speeds.)
8) Load G8F and you now have a viable morph. (In my case I can now just copy the XTransfer files over to my main library.)
This might help all you folks struggling with your transfers. I also posted some other advice for folks struggling with difficult morphs. (Also... not an XTRANSFER issues... this is an issue with bad morphs.)
Like for instance, if all I want to do is transfer over specific characters like Victoria 7, Ophelia 7, Michael 7, Ivan 7, and PA characters like Henryk for Michael 7, will I be able to do this in 4.21.05 and higher?
This bizarre radio silence my questions have received these past two weeks make me wonder whether Zev0 has something new in the works, either an update or a brand new converter.
Comments
Has this been abandoned? No more updates to make it work with the current Daz

I hope this is straightened out soon.

Yes as long as that content library is mapped.

@wjpblathwayt, I'm not sure what's going on for you. I just now transfered Summer & everything is as it should be.
Your image looks like you have some dials not at 0%
The Head Morphs weren't transferred.
What am I doing wrong?
Which head morphs?

If I Xtransfer on one PC and want to copy the converted morphs to a second PC, what files do I copy over?
Morphs are located in the appropriate data folder. Use the same arrangement of folders from one computer to the other.
How stable is current XTransfer in Studio 4.21.05?
