Carrara 8.5 questions

I used to do a lot of work in Carrara 5 pro. Never upgraded (Eovia wanted $500+ to upgrade from 5 to 7...) But I see the price has dropped... I do like Carrara's modeling tools better than C4D and Blender in many ways, easy to bring in actual product dimensions for client mockups.

Is there a Mac trial available for 8.5 - can't find a thing on this site.

Is there a way to get After Effects camera tracks into 8.5?

Is Carrara worth investing in? With C4D Lite and Blender for free (both with great After Effects integration, esp. C4d) will Carrara be around much longer? 5 was frustratingly buggy with awful documentation, but I'll try 8.5 if I can get a trial version.
