DS 4.11.0.383 - GPU 1 with CUDA compute capability 5.0 cannot be used by iray photoreal

Hi.

Just installed the most recent version of Daz Studio (4.11.0.383), and latest GeForce drivers (430.86) aaaand...
... i can't render anything

Long story short, the log says:

1.1 IRAY rend info : NVIDIA display driver version: 430.861.1 IRAY rend info : Your NVIDIA driver supports CUDA version up to 10.2; iray requires CUDA version 10.1; all is good.1.1 IRAY rend warn : CUDA device 0 (`Y{): compute capability 513.0: unsupported by this version of iray, please look for an update with your software provider.1.1 IRAY rend info : Using iray plugin version 4.8-beta, build 312200.3564 n, 23 Feb 2019, nt-x86-64-vc14.1.1 IRAY rend warn : GPU 1 (GeForce GTX 960M) with CUDA compute capability 5.0 cannot be used by iray photoreal.WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\pluginsource\DzIrayRender\dzneuraymgr.cpp(302): Iray WARNING - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): 1.1 IRAY rend warn : There is no CUDA-capable GPU available to the iray photoreal renderer

on ds 4.10, and drivers 416.x everything worked fine...

I know that, iray 2018.1.3 needs at least Kepler class GPU, but GTX 960M is Maxwell, so it's higher class

Any ideas?

Try and older version of the Nvidia driver, perhaps 419.35.

The GM107 chip that's used in your GTX 960M (also in the GTX 750 ti and GTX 860M) only supports Cuda v5.0.

Strange though that the Kepler based cards would be supported when they only go up to Cuda v3.0 and 3.5 depending on the card.

The GM20X cards (GTX 965M and up) all support cuda v5.2

It may just be an issue with the early version of the Maxwell architecture.

Yeah, it's strange :C Well, at least iray 2017 was not that bad, and renders was quite good, so hello DS 4.10 my old friend :D

    I'll contact Nvidia's and Daz's support anyway ;p

Hi Tomdzia, I have the same issue with the Nvidia GTX 860M (Maxwell) card and IRay. Have you contacted Nvidia and DAZ? Any way to make newer version of DAZ (and IRAy) work with our GPUs ?
