Going insane, DAZ refuses to load Genesis - RESOLVED

Hey guys, newbie checking in.
I'm a little more than frustrated with this program right now and I need help. No matter what I do, DAZ 4.6 refuses to load the genesis models that it comes with. I've tried everything and googling isn't really helping me. :< It used to say that it couldn't find the genesis file at all, but when I modified paths and found it, now it just says "error".
I have installed DAZ and all the genesis files using the install manager. It couldn't find the genesis files, so I uninstalled it all and started over by installing DAZ manually. Then I installed genesis with the install manager and rerouted the content directory manager to the DIM location: https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/entries/23624648-Adding-Content-installed-by-DIM-to-DAZ-Studio-or-Poser
It found the file, but now is giving me "An error occured while reading the file, please see the log for more details." pop up. If I go into the files and double click to launch, it does the same thing. Sometimes it loads a block figure. In the smart content pane, all the figure bases have a little yellow caution triangle with an exclamation mark in it but don't show the actual preview of the genesis files.
I'm at my wits end guys :< I did everything basically default and I have no idea what to do. Here are the last few lines of my error log:

Have you installed the Genesis 2 Male Starter Essentials? Assuming you installed it through the DIM, ensure that the Daz Install Manager is actually installing files to the same place where Daz is looking for them. You can check this in preferences in Daz Studio or by clicking the cog icon in the top-right in Daz Install Manager and clicking on the Installation tab.
Hi Herald,
Yes I did install it into the same place as I told DAZ to look, as I said above I made sure to go into content manager and reroute where DAZ was looking. I made sure that it was opening the right file from the right location on start up too. I still got that error message. :(
Your startup scene is pointing to the \Data folder file - although that is indeed needed, it isn't loaded directly; instead you want C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/People/Genesis 2 Male/Genesis 2 base Male.duf which is the user file for loading a basic G2M
When you uninstalled the items did you delete the old path files from the registry? Despite uninstalling products sometimes bits of data is left behind that saves old settings and then creates havoc with new settings when re-installing.
If you were comfortable (not recommended for those who don't know much about pc's) if you uninstall something like that afterwords, go into the registry editor of your PC (also known as regedit) and clean out registry files left behind from the software/product first and then re-install after doing a disk defrag and cleanup.
You might also click on the smart content tab pane, in the upper right corner there is a little icon with four lines and an arrow. Click on that, and then click on content database management. Then choose re-import meta data.
@ Richard: That is a handy thing that I did not know! I changed the start up file to that one and it opens!
@ Fictional: When I uninstall, I always hunt down the leftover traces of the program and delete them, I wiped from a clean slate. :) Thanks for the tip to re-import meta data, I tried that just now.
It now opens the file! But I have a new problem, heh. When it opens, it's a grey block person. Even when I try to load the female body, it is still made of blocks.
I'm hoping I didn't change some setting like an idiot. >.>
Actors, Wardrobe & Props: Grey nondescript block person, not affected by clothes.
When I tab over to Lights & Cameras however, it shows a good figure with bits of grey and skintone flesh, and the bits of the clothes I tried to apply in the Actors, Wardrobe & Props tab. O_o
That's the preview mode, it's set to bounding box. A quick way to switch back to textured preview is to hold down ctrl (cmd on a Mac) and press the 9 key, or you can switch modes by clicking the little sphere in the top-right corner of the viewport, next to the button for picking the current camera/view.
...And that is the shortkey I pressed to mess it up in the first place! :D Thanks so much Richard!
You've all been such a great help, thanks everyone! ^_^
I'm having the same issues I think. I have no idea how to change my scene path.
This may be my problem. The issue is I don't seem to have those folders, and I'm totally lost. Why did they make this something that happens so early in a users experience with this program. It seems like the file structure is not very easy to understand

Did you install "Genesis 2 Male Starter Essentials"? Manually or with DIM?
with DIM I think? I dunno. There's a lot of stuff that was downloaded. I haven't been here in a while and just downloaded DAZ again after some years. I was looking forward to it but now I get the "An error occurred while reading the file, see the log for more details." window.
I have a similar problem, I download and install DAZ, then download and Genesis2MaleStarterEssentials.zip and Genesis2FemaleStarterEssentials.zip , I decompressed (manually) and after place the folder where the instalation create the folder for DAZ content.
when I try to open and I want to load DAZ Genesis2 male or female, I get an error saying
"some asset neded to load the file Were missing ... "
"/ data / DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Male/Genesis2Male.dsf"
and appears a figure made by boxes , anyone can help please
When you manually unzip the files you need to place the folders inside the "Content" folder from the zip into your content folder (e.g. My Library). You don't want a folder named "Content" inside your actual content folder.
