How to Undo?

Is there any easy way to undo the last change I have made, regardless of what it is?

It seems like there are some changes that I can't undo. Also, I haven't found a redo button yet. Like..I make a change...undo it, then put it back again with a simple keystroke. (ctrl z = undo change; shift ctrl z = undo the last undo and restore. (like in After Effects, Photoshop...Microsoft Word, etc)

Should be a standard and simple thing to do.

I make a small change in something...but when I ctrl z, it doesn't undo what I just did; instead it will undo the last clothing item I put on the model 20 minutes ago, or something else unrelated.

Very frustrating!

I just lost my patience and deleted a scene I have been working on for the past 2 hours (without saving!) because these small irritations stack up and constantly interrupting my creativity to deal with interface work-arounds!

/sigh

Thanks in advance...

Note that if you are using the Perspective or one of the other viewport views, this is not recorded to the Undo stack. If you create a camera and use that then Undo will work on those actions.

DS4.6, Edit > Undo (Ctrl+Z) and Edit > Redo (Ctrl+Y) that is what most programs use
