Can't get backdrop or background colour to show DAZ 4.6

Hi - There's probably an obvious solution to this. But for some reason I can't see the newly created backdrop, nor can I change the background colour of my existing scene. I can do both those things in a new scene, but not in the current scene I'm working on.
I'm using DAZ 4.6 64bit Win 7
Thanks for any assistance with this.

How are you trying to change the background colour?
It works the same for saved scenes or new scenes. Click on the drop down menu for the Viewport, and click on 'Change Background Colour' If that is not working, what version of DS are you using, and what OS?
Thanks.
I'm using DS 4.6.1.33 Pro Edition 64bit
Windows 7
I'm trying to change the background colour in the way you describe. Which works when I create a a new scene. Adding a backdrop from the edit menu also works with a new scene. The scene I'm working on has a Genesis character, uberenvironment2, distant light, and DStoon Matte shader. I've tried turning all objects in the scene off. but that has no effect. I've also tried creating a new scene with a new backdrop or colour and then merging the scene above into it, but the backdrop or colour disappears and iIm left with the white background colour of the merged scene. I'm puzzled.
Can we Please get a Screen shot of the Viewport and the Scene Tab with all items loaded in the scene listed?
Here is the screenshot.
That is the INSIDE of your UBER Environment Sphere. It has no texture and is just emitting light.
OK. Thanks. I just deleted the uberenvironment. and the background appears as it should. I'll have to read up again on how to apply uberenvironment2. I obviously misunderstood something.
Thanks again for the super quick assistance.

It will NOT render in it will only produce light unless set to Visable in render. Some presets do that automatic for you. You can Scale it down and it will still do the proper lighting in your render. Most of the time the Uber Sphere when used as a light only is just there to show you placement of the light in the scene. I scale it down to a little ball when used as a light all the time. It works fine and you can see to set up other items.
Thanks again. Played around a bit and starting to get the hang of things. I'm mainly interested in using Uber Environment2 as an ambient light in this scene. Rather than set up lots of distant lights, which I've read is another way of achieving ambient light with more control. In any case, you've solved my original problem about backgrounds not appearing:-)
I must admit that it has always seemed to be a bit dumb that UE2 loads with such a huge sphere by default. I always have to shrink it to like 5% or 10% so it doesn't mess up my view port. I can see why a beginner would find this a bit puzzling. Why doesn't our friend Mr O. Freaker change the default size of his sphere, I wonder? There's no reason for it to be that huge!
As far as I am aware UE2 is not owned or maintained by omnifreaker any more but by DAZ3D. Try loading UE2 Base, shrinking the sphere down and save as a new Base preset. Cannot check myself at the moment.
Info I often use UE2 for Ambient light only, sometimes you just don't need AO IMHO
